"Freedom is like birth. Till we are fully free, we are slaves," said Mahatma Gandhi during the pre-independence period. We now check with the Bollywood personalities to find out about their favorite freedom fighter and also their favorite patriotic films.

Jackie Shroff
My favorite film: I like Border because I was in it.
Character that influenced me: Shivaji Maharaj because he was a great Maratha warrior. I say: Be independent, don't be in dependent.

Raima Sen
My favorite film: The Legend of Bhagat Singh and Gandhi
Character that influenced me: I think Bhagat Singh was one influential character which was played by Ajay Devgan. I also like Ben Kingsley, who played lead role in Gandhi.
I say: I would like to say that don't misuse your rights. Freedom comes with responsibility, so be responsible. Try and bring change to make this world a better place to live.

Aftab Shivdasani
My favorite film: Being a great fan of cricket, I always enjoyed watching Lagaan. It was one of my favorite movies. Rang De Basanti was an awesome patriotic film.
Character that influenced me: There are many characters that have touched me. I like Aamir's character of Bhuvan in Lagaan. Siddharth's character from Rang De Basanti stands out.
I say: India is a wonderful country that has beautiful hospitable people. Though it's overpopulated, suffering from pollution and has bad infrastructure, on the flip side it is rich in tradition. Believe in humanity and be compassionate about the people around you.

Rehaan Khan
My favorite film: I like Rang De Basanti.
Character that influenced me: I liked Aamir's character from RDB
My message: I would say that every youngster should understand the value and importance of Independence. Independence Day is very special to me because I was born on 16th August. My parents called me "Independence baby".

Koena Mitra
My favorite film: I like Border.
Character that influenced me: It's difficult to answer, as all patriotic characters are my favorite. I can't choose one.
I say: This recent blast has shaken us completely. I think what works in such time is unity. In such time of crisis no body differentiates people as rich or poor. The only thing that matters is humanity and we should maintain that.

Lyricist Sameer
My favorite film: Shaheed Bhagat Singh. It was a big opportunity for me to write something on Bhagat Singh.
Character that influenced me: Bhagat Singh. He is an immortal character and no one can forget him.
I say: Roko zulumon ki aandhi ko nafarat ka lahu na bahne do, kum se kum pyar ki dharti par pyar ko zinda rehne do.

Sushant Singh
My favorite film: I like The Legend of Bhagat Singh and old Haqeeqat, it was one of the best films of that time.
Character that influenced me: Sukhdev and Bhagat Singh these two freedom fighters are my favorite.
I say: I think we should understand that freedom comes with responsibility. Being a responsible citizen of Independent India we should pass on the history of Independence movement so that coming generation would realize the importance of Independence Day.
