Sam playing Cupid for Sushma

It appears that Sameera Reddy is playing Cupid between Viveik Oberoi (considered an eligible bachelor) and her elder sister, Sushma. Last Sunday, Sushma was present at the screening of Naksha at Cinemax Andheri, where Viveik had also invited some children along with his parents and sister.

Hook up

Says a unit member from Shoot Out At Lokhandwala, starring Viveik, "Sushma and Viveik have been spotted together at various social events. Last Saturday, Sameera, Milap Jhaveri, Viveik and Sachin Bajaj had gone to celebrate Viveik's birthday at Don Giovanni.

Sushma was invited too, but couldn't make it because of a prior commitment. The next day, Sushma was seen at Cinemax along with Viveik and his family for the screening of Naksha. Viveik was heard telling people, 'Sameera is trying to hook me up with Sushma'."

The day after, when Sanjay Dutt and Sanjay Gupta had a party with the cast and crew of Shootout, somebody asked Viveik about his love life. "He turned around and said, 'What love life? I don't have one.' But something is definitely brewing between Viveik and Sushma, with Sameera setting them up and playing Cupid," says our khabroo.

Common interests

Sushma Reddy reacts coyly, saying, "I don't know about Sam playing Cupid, but Viveik and I have shared interests. Sam might feel that Viveik and I have many things in common, so she might want us to be friendly."

How did she end up going for the Naksha show? "Sameera got Viveik on the phone and he told me, 'Sushma, you have to come, you do similar things for children'. He was happy to have me there and it was my pleasure. I subscribe to his view and we both love to do things for young children. I like Viveik a lot. I think Viveik is a super-talented guy and I respect his personal commit-ment to every social cause that he takes up."

Sam has no time

But Sushma adds, "It would be difficult for Sam to play Cupid as she hardly has time to have a love life herself, let alone find a boyfriend for me. But yes, like any sister, she does want Meghna and me to get married so she can play with nephews and nieces. But I don't want to settle down right now. I want to act in some good films. There's still time."

Their elder sister Meghna will be getting married soon. "Hardly. The wedding date hasn't been finalised yet."

Write stuff

Though Sushma doesn't want to settle down just yet, few know she's a great cook and has been sounding rather domesticated of late. Sushma agrees, "I'm tired of the glam doll image.

The pleasure of partying in Mumbai is no longer there. I'd rather spend my time doing something worthwhile, like cooking up a new recipe or learning something new. Like now, I'm making bath salts at home with essential oils and different kinds of salts. I'd like to learn ceramics too."

Besides cooking and acting, she's also taken up writing. "I love writing and have written lots of short stories and poetry for websites. Recently, I wrote a travel piece for Queenie Dhody's new magazine, Haute."
