Aarti Chabbria talks about her career and life

Model, beauty queen and actress Aarti Chabbria is all set to take Bollywood by storm. While her debut film Shootout at Lokhandwala is ready for release, the lady has a line of films on the floor. She has done films like Awara Pagal Deewana, Shaadi No 1 opposite Fardeen Khan, Aarti also has Raja Bhaiyaa and Lajja in her kitty. Aarti is also a winner of many beauty pageants, including Miss India Worldwide, Miss India - Beautiful Smile, Beautiful Eyes and Best Outfit. She has also done over 50 ads as a child artiste. Here she talks about her career, life and values.

Why did you decide to join films?
I did lots of ads as a kid and all through school and my growing up years. I developed a passion for being in front of the camera and performing. This is how I decided that I would like to be an actor.

Tell us about your role in Shootout at Lokhandwala ?
A: In this film, I plays the character of a bar dancer who falls in love with a bhai played by Tusshar Kapoor. This is very exciting for me as doing challenging roles is really what I want to do. I'm glad I got this opportunity and I hope the audience appreciates what I've done in the film.

What is ypur beauty secret is ?
Apart from the normal drinking water and sleeping well formula that always works wonders, what I think a true beauty secret is "being happy". Calming your nerves when you are most stressed, probably by doing yoga or simple deep breathing can really have a great calming effect. What works for me is taking a deep breath and chanting "Om". When your mind is relaxed and your thoughts are clear, you feel beautiful and energetic. Keep your AC on while you do that (for the summer) (Laughs)

Tell us about the fashion rules you follow and who is your favourite designer ?
I would never wear something just because 'somebody' said it suits me. On the contrary, I would only wear it if I felt comfortable in it, so I'd be confident carrying it off. Well I have many favourite designers. I have worked with many of them and so it would be unfair to just mention one. But if I really had to take a name I'd say my really close friend is Shamayel Khan. I love Manish Malhotra's work as well.

Which make-up you cannot do without ?
Mac eye pencils and mascara, cheek hue, vanilla flavored lipgloss. Mac is an excellent brand.

What is your most dreadful experience in life ?
When I tore a ligament in my ankle and was bed ridden for weeks.

Which actress do you admire the most and why ?
I admire Audrey Hepburn simply because of the graceful way she has carried herself in her films and off-screen. She's pure magic. I also admire Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi. I would love to follow their footsteps in Bollywood.

Who is your favourite co-stars ?
Akshay Kumar, Sohail khan, Govinda, Fardeen Khan, Viveik Oberoi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor. I have had a blast working with all of them.

Which is your favorite holiday destination ?

New York and the Gold Coast in Australia.
