We have heard of actors giving up their education and careers to pursue their acting dreams. Ameet Gaurr seems to have taken this too seriously as he gave up his career as a pilot to become an actor. This commercial pilot has trained in America and even had his commercial pilot license. For the drastic career shift, Ameet says, "My job was not really happening a couple of years back. People were looking displaced post September 11, 2001. I was sitting home doing nothing. So I said why not use this opportunity to do a film." He came to know of the alliance between Ramesh Sippy and Vikram Bhatt and had a chat with them. He signed the dotted line just in the second meeting.

Ameet is making his debut in Vikram Bhatt's Fear which is a supernatural thriller. He plays Dev, a simple business executive and his life goes haywire when a certain Alisha comes in his life. He claims that people should watch this film because it has a great storyline and is a crisp 2-hour film.

It is an irony that somebody like Ameet is doing a horror film as his first. This is because he can't watch a horror film. For why he didn't mind doing horror, he says, "Everybody has the same question to me that if you can't watch a horror film then how on the world did you land up acting in one? Well I acted because in acting we have to bring out whatever feelings, emotions that you have to do in terms of the character. It comes from research. I have never done any research because I don't watch any films."

This multi-faceted actor who works out 4-5 times a week also plays sports like cricket and volleyball since school times.
