Tete-e-tete with Amit Verma

By Super Admin

Amit Verma came to limelight with his serial 'Kittu Sab Janti Hai' where he played the character called Rohan and surprisingly went on a break after the serial went off air. Earlier Amit had done a comedy serial 'Khichdi' where he portrayed a character named Raju and he was also in another show 'Hotel Kingston' on Star One.

Now he is back again and we talked to him in details on his present assignments and future plans. Here is the excerpt.

Amit tell us what are you doing at present?
Presently I'm in Pune and taking a break after 'Kittu...' It was very tiring shoot and after doing 'Kittu...' for one-and-a-half years at a stretch I decided to give myself a break. While this is a much-needed break for me, I am not totally aloof as I'm also doing a few episodes.

What are they?
I have shot for an episodic on Star One's 'Mano Ya Na Mano'. It was a totally different experience for me since I have not done an episodic till now. Then I will also do the same for Sony.

What is the story of the episode all about?
I play an actor in the show. It was something interesting for me because of the fact that I'm an actor myself. Now my character has an obsession with his face and also has a lot of attitude.

Has there been any incident that occurred during the shoot of 'Mana Ya Na Mano' which deals with extraordinary subjects?
See, I have told you about my character. Ultimately what happens in the story is that this character is so obsessed with his face that he smashes his face and dies. So the shot required me to get a bit psychotic and break a huge mirror with a vase. After that breaks, I fall on it and die. It was not decided earlier, but was an improvisation that was added later. Initially, I was scared to do so because the mirror as very close to me and there was no protection provided.

So did you go ahead with it?
Yes, the director convinced me and moreover, I'm always eager to do such things. So I went ahead with it. It came out very well in the end. I'm happy that I escaped unhurt.

How was the experience working in Kittu..?
It was a beautiful experience. Everyone was so good. The production team members, co-stars and all others were so co-operative. I really had a blast. My character has so many shades that I also enjoyed working.

Are you missing the serial and your friends there?
Yes, I'm missing them a lot. When we work together for around one-and-a-half years, it really becomes a family.

So are you in contact with them these days?
Yes, I'm in contact with the co-stars like Ami, Yash.

Have you received any new offers?
Yes, I have a lot of offers in hand and after I go back to Mumbai I will give a thought to those offers.
