Guddu on Big Brother and the cast

Big Brother is yet another film from the stable of Guddu Dhanoa with Sunny Deol in lead as usual. In a relaxed chit-chat, Dhanoa talks about various aspects of his film.

On Theme of the film
The caption of the film says it all, 'Every family has a hero'. All members of the family rely on him. And this hero could be any one, even the youngest in the family. The theme of my movie revolves around one such hero of the family who would do anything to save the prestige of the family.

On Inspiration for the movie
People read stories in newspapers and watch the news on TV - acid attack on girls, accidents while travelling by local trains, Parents being chucked out of their houses by the son and the daughter-in-law and so on. There are people fighting against such things. But what are we doing - simply sitting at home, doing nothing. Such incidents inspired me to make this movie.

On Cast
Sunny Deol was always in mind for the role as he is considered to be daring. Looks like you can trust him. Movies may or may not work, but people have faith in him. He has the image of a hero. Looking at him makes you believe that he can do it, make a difference. As for Priyanka Chopra, she is a brilliant actor, a professional. She is "one-take artiste".

On why the film got Delayed
The film was technically not ready when we actually wanted to release the movie. Even the special effects were incomplete. Not only that, we still haven't got the final negative.

On the title Big Brother
There is absolutely no relation with the UK's celebrity show by the same name which shot Shilpa Shetty to new heights of fame. The popularity may give boost to the title but the title was already taken by someone else. Therefore I had to buy it, because it goes well with the story.

On the audience's expectations
Female audience will become a fan of Sunny after this film as we have tried dealing with subjects related to crimes against women. Every woman (a daughter, a mother, a sister) can relate to the issues especially crimes against females like acid attacks, eve-teasing etc. Women will be satisfied.

On directing Priyanka Chopra
Acting is the key. You can get it in a day or not even in 10years. Priyanka got the key the very 1st day. "Kya screen pe dikhana hai, kaise dikhana hai is the key." And I have worked extensively on that front.

On Priyanka having a not so important role in the Sunny-centric film
When an actor signs a film, he or she knows what the role requires him/her to play. They do it well irrespective of the length or importance of the character. Priyanka gave the role her best.

On Music
Music is doing very well. It already has made everyone get up and take notice. It will score even better if the film is a hit. Two songs have been composed by Anand Raj Anand and rest by Sandesh Sandhliya. 'which is playing over radio stations is a theme song.

On Action
Action is very good and related to the story. It is not there just because Sunny Deol is there. It goes with the story.
