This is the time when industry goes crazy giving and receiving awards, and new categories have to be thought up so that every star who attends the function gets to take home a trophy. So to help increase the number of awards, here's a list of some new ones.

Best NRI actor: This one would go to Madhuri Dixit, who gets loads of media coverage every time she decides to fly down to Mumbai.

Best reinvented persona: To Shah Rukh Khan, from superstar to TV star-covers the gamut.

Best scene-stealer: Now that he made a gag of his editing skills in Bhagam Bhag, it would go to Akshay Kumar.

Most interviewed star: Amitabh Bachchan gets it without any competition for miles.

Best comeback artist: Govinda, he actually went away and came back, unlike others who keep trying and pretend they are on a sabbatical.

Best rediscovery of the year: Uday Chopra-his home banner keeps rediscovering him, since nobody else will.

Best publicity stunt: The Abhishek Bachchan-Aishwarya Rai wedding rumours that pop up every time they have a release coming up.

Best Henchman of the villain: Has to be Razzak Khan-about time he got an award for playing the same character with the same get-up and same lines in so many films.

Best Chamcha of the hero: Might as well give it to Chunky Pandey, since the films he does won't get anything else, and Rajpal Yadav has moved to hero status.

Best item girl: If the criterion is to give it to the girl who fits her skimpy clothes best, then Bipasha Basu deserves it for Dhoom2, anyway as the Brazilian babe, she was an 'item'. (Rakhi Sawant can go sulk in the corner or stand in queue for next year).

Sulk of the year: To Akshay Kumar who trashed a multi-crore deal because Hrithik Roshan was getting more money.

Lottery Lag Gayi Award: To Paresh Rawal who signed a 3-crore per film deal himself, which is like hitting the jackpot.

Most Devout Star: Aishwarya Rai, for being regularly photographed at places of worship.

Best Dressed Star: Salman Khan, who deserved it for keeping his shirt on.

Jodi of the year: Salman Khan and John Abraham, who kept everyone entertained with their 'katti' games.

Best Rona-Dhona Award: To Rani Mukerjee, who didn't stop crying her eyes out this year.

Mehndi Laga Ke Rakhna Award: To Preity Zinta, who was constantly married off but refused to become a bride.

Best Drag Act: To Ritesh Deshmukh for actually looking pretty as a girl in Apna Sapna Money Money.

Best Thief Award: To Priyadarshan, who has forgotten what it is like to make a film that is not lifted from another.

Mere ko bhi Award de do trophy: To Bobby Deol, who is not likely to win in any category, but the clan has to be kept happy.
