The much-hyped film Blue is releasing this Diwali. Its makers have braved tough competition from big movies like Main Aurr Mrs Khanna and All The Best. The good news is that it is different from all these films. It has also gone through censorship with a U/A certificate.
As the title suggests, Blue is a complete underwater action thriller with action hero Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Lara Dutta, Katrina Kaif and Zayed Khan in the lead roles. The highlight of the film is no doubt the underwater stunts that are unknown to Indian cinema so far.
All eyes will be on Akshay Kumar, who is back going what he does best – action stunts. The breathe-taking underwater adventure amongst the deadly sea creatures like sharks is expected to make the viewers to sit up on reflex.
Former beauty queen Lara Dutta"s bikini show is one of the highlights of the film. Some may think it"s not a big deal to wear the two-piece cloth but the truth is that, it takes lots of hard work to fit into it. Moreover, performing stunts in bikini, that too underwater, would not be easy. It was a big achievement considering the fact that Lara had severe hydrophobia before the shooting of the film. She went for swimming lessons after Akshay convinced her to sign the film.
No doubt, Akshay and Lara have stolen all the limelight till now but Sanjay Dutt, Katrina Kaif and Zayed Khan could steal the show once the film hits the theatres, as they are big names in the film industry.
Another sequence the film lovers will look forward to in Blue is Australian singer Kylie Minogue. She is expected to heat up the aura with a sensual performance. In fact, she was in the news recently for strolling on the streets of London in a see-through dress.
Blue also boasts of music by A.R. Rahman and sound mix by Resul Pookutty, who won Oscars for Slumdog Millionaire. Cinematographer Pete Zuccarini, who is known for his works in Pirates of the Caribbean and Deep Blue Sea, takes care of the cinematography along with Laxman Udaykar. It is produced by Shri Ashtavinayak Cine Vision banner and directed by Antony D"Souza.
Will Blue live up to the expectations and hype? Watch out! It is releasing this Friday, 16th October.
