“Motherhood is very tough,” Mahima Chaudhary

Bollywood babe Mahima Chaudhary was recently in Bangalore to inaugurate 'Samaavesha', a Bangalore"s landmark interior store, which has got wonderful collection of electric mix of tiles, floorings, stone finishes, plywood & veneer, laminates, wallpapers, blinds, lighting solutions and sanitary and bathroom wares. Meanwhile, she talked about her marriage, motherhood and her future career plans. Here are excerpts of Mahima Chaudhary"s interview.

What was your feeling when you came to know about your pregnancy?
I got married to Boby Mukharjee when I was in US. I wore a red saree, which was presented by one of my close friends. When I came to know about my pregnancy, I called up her and told that I was two weeks pregnant. She urged me to reveal it to everyone. But I told her that there would not be any problem till my stomach developed. I suggested her to keep the matter secret until I made it public. She did it.

How did you face pregnancy and what is your opinion about motherhood?
I didn't face any problem during pregnancy. I normally performed dance till I was six and a half months pregnant. Only last one month, I took rest without engaging in any activity of my career. As far as Motherhood is concerned, it's really very tough. There is no day off.

Would mind staying away from your family now?
I don"t want to miss my family, especially my daughter Aryana. She is very cute and every day, she is learning one new thing. I would like to enjoy her learning new words everyday. After the marriage, I started cooking. Now, motherhood has made me crazier about cooking. I"m getting more and more acquainted with the kitchen stuffs, especially preparing nutrition food for my baby.

Do you have any post-motherhood plans of acting?
Now, I am going through the mails in my email account. I have received so many scripts. I am trying to go through it. Once I will finish with it, I will let you know about forthcoming film projects.

Do you have any a particular character, which you desperately wants play?
I don"t have choice of any particular character, but I would love play the roles, which are entertaining.

So far, you have played many roles. Which role do you think is very close to your heart?
I've played many roles. I can"t tell you which one is the best and very close to my heart. I liked my role in Dil Kya Kare and Ye Tera Ghar Ye Mera Ghar.

Do you think that Bollywood film industry has grown to different level after the release of the movies like Fashion and Rock On?
I think Instead of Bollywood the audiences have improved a lot. They have improved their taste. They want to see everything in one single movie. They want to see comedy, action sentimental sequence and glamour in one movie.

What do you feel about IIFA award 2009?
I feel very bad for missing IIFA award 2009. I wanted to attend the event. But I had to cancel my tour at the last moment, because my daughter had joined the school just two days before the event.

What is your impression about Bangalore?
Bangalore is wonderful city to live in. Weather in Bangalore is amazing. It"s traditional and cultured city with lots of educated people. It has progressed tremendously in the past couple of years. Another speciality of the city is that this is first city to encourage the bar culture. One can go and enjoy drinks and disco at the pubs.

How do you find the store 'Samaavesha'?
I loved the store 'Samaavesha'. It's got rich collection of interior designs. I saw some of the rare and best home designs in this store. It is really nice to have everything under the one roof. My hubby is an architect. When I told him that I'm going launch interior store, he asked me to bring the brochure. I'm sure that he'll be very happy to see the brochure of 'Samaavesha'.
