Wining the Miss India title marked the entry of many beauties into Bollywood. Some of them achieved success but most of them failed. “Models cannot act" became a famous tag line in the industry as many of the ramp beauties failed to connect to the audience. Nafisa Ali
Nafisa was the first Indian model of international repute. She won the Miss India title in 1976 and was runner-up at the Miss International contest in 1977. A national swimming champion she acted in movies like Junoon, Major Saab, Bewafaa and Life In A... Metro. Nafisa who is also a social activist will be fighting the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections
