Sania-Shoaib: Mixed doubles pair

Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza might have played with many guys on the court for the mixed doubles matches but finding a perfect pair off the court looked like a mirage till recently. She was earlier linked to Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor but it vanished as quick as it hit the headlines. As destiny has it, she found the man of her life from Pakistan.

The news of Sania's marriage with the former Pakistan cricket captain Shoaib Malik came as a pleasant surprise for many while others were shocked. But the fact is, they make a perfect mixed doubles pair, though may not be on the court, as both are known names in sports. No Indian woman has scaled the height that Sania has in tennis and Shoaib had captained his country's cricket team. They surely make a perfect pair.

The good news for the fans of the couple is that they will play for their respective countries even after marriage. Sania will continue to play for India while Shoaib will play for Pakistan. Shoaib even said that he would be the proudest husband if Sania wins gold for India in the next Olympics.

The most important thing is that the couple is happy. “Hi Guys!Me & Shoaib are very happy in this new phase of our life. Want to thank the media & all you guys for the wishes:) lots of love to all," she wrote on her Twitter page. She continued, “I know this has come as a big surprise to everyone but I hope you all understand that I have always kept my personal life private & I would like to thank you all again for all the love, wishes and support. Really appreciate it."

It is speculated that their wedding ceremony would be held on April 11 in Hyderabad, followed by reception in Dubai on April 15 and a grand reception in Lahore. However, the families of the couple are yet to fix a date for the wedding.
