Actor
Amitabh
Bachchan
recently
visited
Krakow,
Poland,
for
the
Off
Plus
Camera
Film
Festival.
The
actor
who
was
accompanied
by
wife
Jaya
Bachchan
and
daughter
Shweta,
was
honoured
by
the
Poles
by
immortalizing
his
handprints.
He
was
also
given
the
key
to
the
city
of
Krakow.
Amitabh's
handprints
were
taken
for
engraving
it
on
the
pavement
that
runs
along
the
great
castle.
The
actor
wrote
on
his
blog,
“My
hand
prints
for
the
plaque
to
be
placed
on
the
pavement
that
runs
along
the
great
castle.
Michael
Jackson
there
too.
A
pink
liquid
preparation
is
mixed
and
put
into
that
little
square
depth
and
hands
asked
to
be
put
into
it
without
moving.
After
some
time
that
pink
thick
liquid
starts
to
turn
white
in
color
and
that
is
when
they
tell
you
to
remove
the
hands
….
the
imprint
remains!"
Amitabh
Bachchan
was
also
presented
the
key
to
the
city,
the
actor
informed
that
he
was
honoured
for
being
the
son
of
Harivansh
Rai
Bachchan.
He
expressed
his
pride
by
penning
it
down
in
his
blog,
“The
Mayor,
the
palace
of
his
office
and
the
'key
to
the
city
of
Krakow".
A
moment
of
great
pride.
Not
for
me
but
for
who"s
son
I
was
and
which
nation
I
came
from
..
Many
ask
what
special
privileges
come
along
with
the
key.
I
was
once
decorated
similarly
by
the
administration
in
New
Jersey
by
the
senator
in
charge
and
I
asked
him
the
same
question.
What
are
the
specialities
of
having
the
key
to
the
city.
And
he
replied
-
'If
you
were
to
be
pulled
up
for
speeding
on
any
highway
in
the
state,
then
the
officer
would
make
sure
that
you
were
escorted
to
the
nearest
police
station
with
utmost
dignity
!!!"
Amitabh
also
uttered
a
few
words
from
his
father
Harivansh
Rai
Bachchan's
poem
at
the
Krakow
University.
The
consul-general
of
Poland
in
Mumbai,
Janusz
Wach,
told
Mid
Day,
"It
is
an
incredible
privilege
for
the
organisers
of
this
film
festival
to
have
a
superstar
like
Amitabh
Bachchan
to
be
a
part
of
their
celebrations.
Also,
in
the
context
of
poetry,
it
is
worth
noting
that
Krakow
is
the
city
linked
with
two
Polish
poets
Nobel
Prize
winners
in
literature
(Czeslaw
Milosz
1980;
Wislawa
Szymborska
1996).
Hence,
there
is
a
beautiful
synergy
between
the
cultures
of
the
two
nations."
Amitabh
Bachchan
also
visited
the
Wieliczka
salt
mines
in
Krakow.
Reportedly,
actor
was
supposed
to
visit
the
place
with
his
family
last
year,
but
couldn't
make
it,
this
year
he
was
invited
for
the
Off
Plus
Camera
Film
Fest.
We
at
Oneindia
congratulate
Amitabh
Bachchan
for
receiving
the
honour
at
the
Poland.
