Amitabh Bachchan credits his success to his father Harivansh Rai

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan spent this Sunday remembering his late father Dr Harivansh Rai Bachchan (27 November, 1907), who was a noted Hindi poet of Chhayavaad literary movement. On his birth anniversary, Bollywood actor Big B tweeted that he owes all his success to his dad.

On Sunday, Amitabh Bachchan took to his Twitter page to share his fond memories with his dad Dr Harivansh Rai Bachchan. He wrote, “My fathers Birth Anniversary today, 27th Nov .. In prayer and in thoughts with him ..a great human, great mind, and a great Father !!"

Senior Bachchan further tweeted, “A day spent in remembering his words his wisdom and his presence .. prayer for his peace in his heavenly abode. In his another post, Big B credited his success to his father. Amitabh Bachchan wrote, “All that I am is because of him .. his guidance, his morals, his culture and his ethics ..now just fond memories of his to live with."

However, Amitabh Bachchan's late father was a popular poet in early 20th century Hindi literature. Harivansh Rai Bachchan was professor in English Literature at Allahabad University from 1941 to 1952. He was the second Indian to get his doctorate in English literature from Cambridge University. He is best known for his early work 'Madhushala'.
