Bachchans bury the hatchet, attend Filmfare

If we stress our memories little more and remember, last year one of the biggest news said “Bachchans boycotting Filmfare." But, this time the scenario is totally different. The 56th Filmfare Awards night saw Bachchan mukhia Amitabh Bachchan and Bachchan bahu Aishwarya Rai Bachchan gracing the occasion.

Aishwarya who was nominated for the best actress in leading (film Guzaarish) accompanied father-in-law Amitabh, who was also honoured for his 40 Years Of Greatness in the Indian film fraternity by Filmfare.

Last year the award night was boycotted by the Bachchan parivaar in protest against the false report published by a Mumbai-based tabloid stating that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is suffering from stomach tuberculosis and therefore cannot conceive. This false report flared up Amitabh and he wrote on his blog, “The lawyers notice has been delivered... seeking on a legal plain retraction and apology and we have informed Filmfare that neither will Aishwarya be performing at the event, for which all preparations had been made, and nor will any of us be attending."

Legal notice was served to the tabloid demanding public apology. Aishwarya who was also about to perform on the show kept away from the function.

Well, looks like the old issues have been sorted out between the newspaper and Bachchan's. We can say that it was pleasant to see the Bachchan getting back to Filmfare, hopefully the same will happen with IIFA too.
