Director
Madhur
Bhandarkar
is
known
for
making
sombre
and
serious
films
with
social
message.
But
for
a
change,
he
is
taken
up
a
thrilling
romantic
comedy.
This
has
aroused
curiosity
among
the
film
lovers.
The
good
news
is,
he
seems
to
have
good
sense
humour
too.
Critics
have
given
good
reviews
to
his
latest
film
Dil
Toh
Baccha
Hai
Ji.
Popular
film
critic
Taran
Adarsh
thinks
that
Dil
Toh
Baccha
Hai
Ji
is
one
of
the
most
accomplished
works
of
Madhur.
“Dil
Toh
Baccha
Hai
Ji
is
a
feel
good,
light-hearted
rom-com,
a
slice
of
life
film
which
the
populace
and
the
regular
lay
person
would
relate
to.
Madhur
Bhandarkar
changes
tracks
from
his
trademark
women-oriented
movies
on
contemporary
issues
to
a
rom-com,
which
has
the
unmistakable
Bhandarkar
signature
to
it,
and
emerges
triumphant
in
his
new
fangled
endeavour," he
wrote.
“Dil
Toh
Baccha
Hai
Ji,
with
its
bona
fide
characters
and
pertinent
situations,
promises
to
bring
a
smile
to
your
face
and
cheer
you
up.
I
strongly
recommended
it!"
he
added.
Anupama
Chopra
is
of
the
opinion
that
Dil
Toh
Baccha
Hai
Ji
is
a
good
film
though
it
has
its
flip
side
too.
“The
film,
about
three
house-mates
and
their
tangled
love
lives,
is
definitely
among
Madhur
Bhandarkar"s
better
efforts,"
she
wrote.
“Dil
Toh
Baccha
Hai
Ji
has
an
interesting
story
but
the
characters
and
situations
aren"t
fleshed
out
enough.
There
is
an
inherent
clumsiness
and
in
places
the
film
feels
long
and
leaden.
Still,
if
you
keep
your
expectations
low,
it
makes
for
mildly
diverting
entertainment,"
she
added.
However,
film
critic
Blessy
Chettiar
is
not
impressed
with
Dil
Toh
Baccha
Hai
Ji.
She
thinks
that
the
film
is
good
but
up
to
the
expectations.
“Unimaginative,
corny
and
cheap
dialoguebaazi
ruin
Bhandarkar"s
comic
baby.
Most
of
his
jokes
require
explanations,
thus
ceasing
to
be
funny.
Bhandarkar"s
ability
as
a
director
cannot
be
questioned.
He
has
proved
himself
time
and
again,
but
the
writing
(comedy
here)
needs
a
lot
of
work.
Judging
by
DTBHJ,
being
funny
is
not
Bhandarkar"s
forte.
If
this
is
his
idea
of
comedy,
perhaps
he
should
stay
secure
in
his
comfort
zone
of
serious
cinema,"
she
wrote.
Well,
Dil
Toh
Baccha
Hai
Ji
takes
a
funny
look
at
love
and
the
extent
people
will
go
to
avoid
it
or
achieve
it.
It
features
Ajay
Devgn,
Emraan
Hashmi,
Omi
Vaidya,
Tisca
Chopra,
Shruti
Hassan,
Shraddha
Das
and
Shazahn
Padamsee
in
the
lead
roles.
