festival

In
this
festival

throw

tomatoes

each
other
in
the
annual
Spanish
festival.

recreated

to
give
a

look
to
the
festival
scene
in
the
film.

was
shot
in
the
original
location
where
the
festival
is
actually
held,
Bunyol,
Valencia,
Spain.

The
producer
of
Zindagi
Na
Milegi
Dobara,
Ritesh
Sidhwani
said
that
they
imported
16
tonnes
of
tomatoes
from
Portugal
for
the
scene,
as
the
tomatoes
in
Spain
were
not
ripe.
This
gave
an
authentic
look
to
the
scene
in
the
film.
The
cost
of
production
for
this
particular
scene
went
upto
Rs
1
crore.
Around
24
tonnes
of
tomato
puree
(juice)
was
used.
The
director
of
the
film,
Zoya
Akhtar
informed
that
the
Tomatina
festival
in
Spain
is
closest
to
Holi
festival
in
India.
While
in
Spain
people
play
with
tomatoes
and
turn
the
world
red
for
the
day,
we
in
India
make
it
colourful
with
different
colours.
She
also
said
that
they
had
a
blast
shooting
for
the
scene
and
the
joy
will
be
transferred
to
the
audience
when
they
will
enjoy
the
eye
treat
on-screen.
Bunyol
had
to
be
shut
down
while
shooting
the
scene.
The
film
Zindagi
Na
Milegi
Dobara
is
about
three
friends
who
are
on
a
fun
filled
road
trip.
The
film
will
hits
the
screen
on
June
24.
