Shammi Kapoor: Jaane se pehle Khuda Hafiz keh kar jaunga

Shammi Kapoor will always be remembered for his lively, carefree, positive and yahooooo attitude. Even after undergoing bad health and constant dialysis for three-days-a-week, for seven years, Shammi did not lose the spirit to live life.

Before Shammi's condition could worsen, the actor, who was an internet buff, interacted with his fans through his twitter account. “Thank you all for your good wishes and great concern about my health. Whatsoever happens 'jaane se pehle khuda hafiz keh kar jaunga.' Love," wrote Shammi, who died on Saturday at Breach Candy Hospital because of renal failure and was paid final goodbye on Monday morning.

The spirit of Shammi Kapoor was like a mountain. When last year the actor returned from Dubal after two dialysis, Shammi went ahead to reach out his fans informing that though on wheelchair, he had a beautiful trip. Hats off to the juvenile nature the man possessed. “Back from Dubal and 2 dialysis. Beautiful trip despite wheelchair. Missed wishing you all Happy Diwali and New Year. God bless. Love," tweeted the romantic hero.

In a rare interview with a leading daily, when Shammi was asked about his joie-de-vicre nature, the actor told that life's been great and beautiful. Nothing yet, not even his dialysis for seven long years has dampened his spirit. “I'll die a happy man."

Superstar Aamir Khan shared a special relationship with Shammi Kapoor, on remembering the veteran, Khan says that he was an epitome of 'positive energy'. Kapoor was always proud of Aamir's achievements, the dancing jack of Bollywood always treasured a comment from Aamir during a felicitation function. He said, "Shammi Kapoor is not the Elvis Presley of India. Elvis Presley is the Shammi Kapoor of America."
