Bollywood
actor
Shiney
Ahuja
was
sentenced
to
seven
years
rigorous
imprisonment
on
Wednesday
by
a
Session
court.
This
news
however,
came
as
a
shock
to
the
B-Town
celebrities.
While
some
of
them
think
that
the
verdict
came
as
a
silver
lining
to
the
case,
so
are
very
disappointed
with
such
a
great
talent
being
wasted
for
7
years
behind
the
bars.
Filmmaker
Pritish
Nandy,
who
recently
shot
the
film
the
accident
with
Shiney
says
that
it
is
sad
to
know
that
such
a
gifted
young
talent
will
be
wasted
behind
the
bars,
even
after
the
victim
has
withdraw
all
the
charges
against
him.
He
added
that
Abhishek
Kasliwal
who
was
also
accused
of
rape
got
free
even
after
the
same
heinous
crime.
Nandy
ends
the
statement
with
a
shy
that
probably
this
is
what
one
has
to
pay
for
being
famous.
Actor
Arshad
Warsi
took
to
the
micro-blogging
site
to
express
his
disappointment.
The
actor
wrote,
“
Murderers,
terrorist
n
corrupt
politicians
r
walking
free
n
Shiney
Ahuja
gets
7yrs...
Judiciary
should
stop
targeting
Actors
so
blatantly.
I
am
NOT
saying
he's
right
but
don't
forget
that
Kassab
(sic)
is
still
enjoying
our
hospitality.
Do
you
know
the
no.
of
rapes
that
happen
in
our
country
on
a
daily
basis
by
influential
and
connected
ppl...
Those
cases
r
not
even
registered.
My
point
is
all
criminals
should
be
punished
equally,
it's
not
fair
to
make
an
example
of
an
actor
only
because
it
makes
news."
Film
critic
Taran
Adarsh
was
also
upset
with
the
news
he
said
that
it
has
come
as
a
shock
to
the
industry.
He
also
added
that
his
career
has
been
affected
beyond
repair.
However,
there
are
other
who
have
different
views
about
the
verdict,
filmmaker
Mahesh
Bhatt
said
that
his
verdict
is
like
a
silver
lining
that
has
made
it
clear
that
however
big
name
you
are,
you
can't
get
away
from
your
wrong
doings.
Some
of
the
people
from
the
Bollywood
town
have
also
suggested
him
to
appeal
for
a
higher
court
for
further
decision.
