Blood Money gets average reviews from film critics

Director Mahesh Bhatt’s latest movie Blood Money, starring Kunal Khemu and Amrita Puri in the leads, is a romantic thriller. The movie has received average reviews from almost all the film critics. Glamsham - Martin D'Souza's Rating: 3.5
There are a few flaws, but I'd rather not dwell on those because the overall impact is massive.

Koimoi - Mrigank Dhaniwala's Rating: 3.5
The insipid drama; the loopholes in the script; the below average dialogues. Blood Money is a poor fare.

Bollywood Hungama - Taran Adarsh's Rating: 2.5
Blood Money is old wine with a brand new label. A decent and absorbing first hour coupled with soulful music are its aces, although the mediocre, outmoded writing in the post-interval portions leave you a little miffed. At best, a fair attempt!

Hindustan Times - Anupama Chopra's Rating: 2
Blood Money finds some traction in the climax but it's too little, too late. By then, you are disengaged and debating dinner choices.

India Today - Kaveree Bamzai's Rating: 2
Good for Khemu. He gets to have a sex scene with the red lipped Udeya, looks pretty smart in a linen suit, and has some life and death kind of dialogues, about what money means and what love stands for. It's all too messy. And too trite. By the time our hero discovers his conscience, it's all too late for the audience to care. Avoid.

NDTV - Subhash K. Jha's Rating: 1.5
Blood Money suffers from a serious deluge of monotonous scenes where the actors speak their line as though in a radio play. We hear them loud and clear. But we fail to empathize with the cleverness that the dialogue tries to achieve in scattered showers.

Mid-Day - Shaheen Parkar's Rating: 1.5
Only if you have time to kill on hand and want to escape the seething heat outside, step into the AC environ for this sparkless fare.

DNA - Aakanksha Naval-Shetye and Priya Sugathan's Rating: 1
The film’s name Blood Money is obviously inspired by Leonardo DiCaprio’s Blood Diamond, and the hero here is shown to be dealing in diamonds too. But don’t let any of this fool you to expect any sparkling moments in this one.

Rediff - Sukanya Verma's Rating: 1
Blood Money is exceptionally hollow in its aspirations. You don't have to be a diamond expert to tell a gem from a pebble. And so, unless stale stories, bad acting and bungled possibilities capture your fancy, Blood Money is much too sluggish, simplistic and boring to bother.
