Was Dimple Kapadia too good a wife to superstar Rajesh Khanna?

When Dimple Kapadia married her long time crush Rajesh Khanna, she might have then felt that she will be living up her dreams with him. But, nothing comes pre-planned in a relationship. Dimple and Rajesh's relationship slowly began taking an ugly turn, until they finally decided to live separately. Dimple has always been a very caring and supportive wife to Khanna. But, the question that lies is that whether Kaka really recognised the value of his loving and dedicated wife?

We somewhere feel that Dimple was too good a wife for Rajesh Khanna. Now, let us find out what makes Dimple take the upper hand as a better partner in the enstranged relationship:

Rajesh Khanna married Dimple Kapadia, who was 15 years younger to him, 8 months before her debut film Bobby released. Dimple Kapadia was a huge fan of Rajesh Khanna at that time. After marriage Rajesh Khanna did not allow Dimple to work in movies. So, Dimple often used to accompany Rajesh Khanna on his movie sets. The film Bobby was a major hit, that gave Dimple overnight fame. But, a 16 year-old Dimple chose to sacrifice her career after her marriage to Khanna.

Rumours say that when Dimple accepted Rajesh Khanna's proposal, the latter made her throw the ring into the sea that her ex-boyfriend Rishi Kapoor gifted her, to prove her loyalty towards Rajesh Khanna. Dimple did it without a question.

Dimple Kapadia was not even seventeen when she gave birth to her first daughter Twinkle Khanna. She became a full time mother, taking utmost care of her two daughters. But, Rajesh Khanna, as a father, couldn't do much for his daughters since he had the tag of 'superstar' and had to spend more time on the sets. Soon Khanna and Dimple's marriage started falling apart and Dimple Kapadia regretted her decision of marrying Kaka. Dimple once said in an interview to a magazine, "The life and happiness in our house came to an end the day I and Rajesh got married."

Rumours say that Rajesh Khanna never took care of his wife and just like his career, he even took his marriage for granted. Dimple just had one job after marriage and that was to sit at home and serve food to Khanna's 'chamchas'. It is said that Khanna could not accept his failure. So, when his films began flopping, he became very short tempered. It is said that he used to vent out his frustration on Dimple. Also, Khanna's addiction to alcohol was another reason behind their failed marriage.

After their separation, Rajesh Khanna fell in love with Tina Munim. The couple acted in many movies and also, were in a live-in relationship. Khanna was also involved in an alleged affair with his childhood friend Anita Advani.

Years later, Dimple and Rajesh reconciled. Dimple campaigned for Khanna's election and also worked in his film Jai Shiv Shankar. Though they were living separately, Dimple was always there for him in his tough time.

Dimple was constantly by Rajesh Khanna's side taking full care of him. She even fought with the hospital staff for not taking proper care of her estranged husband. In fact, it is believed that she left everything to be with the ailing star. She was the pillar of strength for Rajesh Khanna.

The last blow came a few days back, after it was reported that Khanna had left out Dimple from his property. Reports say that his entire property will be divided between his two daughters and nothing will be left for Kapadia. This sounds really strange and rude on the late superstar's part.

But, who knows....... Kaka might have discussed about his will with Dimple and on being asked about her share, the latter might have said that she doesn't want a penny out of his property. Though this is just a speculation, but, this might also be a one of the probable reasons behind Khanna's decision.
