Did Emraan Hashmi decide to boycott Award functions like Aamir Khan?

The Perfectionist Aamir Khan has long back boycotted Bollywood's prestigious award functions. Possibly following the similar footsteps, it looks like actor Emraan Hashmi too doesn’t have much faith left in the Bollywood award shows held recently.

A leading daily quoted Emraan saying that he believes in audience appreciation, rather than any such awards. In fact, he has also promised not to accept any awards in future. Emraan was recently nominated for Murder 2 and The Dirty Picture, but finally he failed to bag the trophy home.

Possibly this has left him is profound disappointment. Hashmi once said, "I may not be the darling of award ceremonies, but I'm the people's champion.” Emraan generally gives a miss to these shows just like our Mr Perfectionist.
