Director
Kunal
Deshmukh's
latest
venture
Jannat
2,
which
is
sequel
to
his
hit
movie
Jannat,
is
an
action
and
romantic
thriller
and
it
features
Emraan
Hashmi,
Esha
Gupta,
Randeep
Hooda
and
Imran
Zahid
in
the
lead
roles.
The
film
has
received
average
reviews
from
film
critics.
It
has
been
rated
2.5
out
of
5.
The
film
critics
think
that
the
performances
of
the
lead
stars,
the
music,
the
drama,
the
dialogues
are
the
major
highlights
of
the
movie
Jannat
2,
while
a
few
boring
parts
in
the
second
half
and
the
predictable
climax
are
demerits
of
the
film.
Overall,
it
is
an
entertaining
flick.
A
few
critics
feel
that
it
is
not
a
sequel
to
Jannat.
So,
it
could
have
been
called
with
a
different
name.

Short
of
artificial
affections
Jannat
2
is
easily
the
best
film
from
the
Bhatt
camp
since
Gangster.
Neither
as
gruesome
as
Murder
2
nor
as
bland
as
Blood
Money,
the
movie
brings
forward
some
inspired
writing
and
two
watchable
performances
that
lend
a
blend
of
the
bitter
and
the
biting
to
the
proceedings.

Jannat
2
follows
the
basic
template
of
a
small-time
crook
trying
to
reform
himself
when
he
falls
in
love.
So
the
narrative
primarily
is
a
love
story
playing
simultaneously
alongside
a
crime-drama,
both
consequential
of
each
other.
But
while
the
crime
backdrop
is
reasonably
riveting,
the
romance
track
is
dull
and
deterrent
to
the
drama.
Only
if
the
director
could
balance
the
two
elements
appropriately,
Jannat
2
could
have
been
a
heavenly
experience!

Jannat
2
is
watchable
only
because
of
Randeep
Hooda
and
the
action
which
is
top
class.
The
music
too
has
the
usual
Bhatt
stamp.
But
it
cannot
compare
with
Jannat

In
both
Jannat
and
Jannat

Deshmukh,
I
believe,
is
compelled
to
make
references
to
this
Sanjay
Dutt
starrer.
By
the
way,
this
film
could
have

It's
not

Few
emotional
and
action
scenes
in
Jannat
2
give
you
an
adrenaline
high,
though
the
various
twists
and
turns
in
the
narrative
is
quite
predictable.
However,
the
fast
pace
of
the
film
makes
for
an
interesting
watch.

Jannat
2
could
have
been
a
gun-toting
action
drama
with
lots
of
thrills
but
except
for
a
chase
sequence
in
the
climax
there
is
nothing.
It
also
appears
to
have
loosely
