RARE PICTURES: Shahrukh, Salman's journey from friends to foes
The two big Khans of Bollywood - Shahrukh and Salman were once very close buddies, in fact, like brothers!
When SRK came to Mumbai, it was Salman who helped him and his wife by providing a roof over their heads. Salman also said to a leading daily during an interview then that he saw SRK as a brother. For him he was like Sohail and Arbaaz.
It was also said that they stayed and even hanged out together very often. Shahrukh also said in Kaun Banega Crorepati 3 (KBC 3) that Salman is family to him. He also said, "Salman's father jokingly said that I will become an actor because I had food at their home." He praised Salman by saying that he is very good at heart and people misunderstand him sometimes. Shahrukh never stopped praising Salman for his kind heart and helping nature. In many award functions, he had praised Salman.
Their fight reportedly started in 2002 on the sets of Chalte Chalte (because of ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai Bachchan), and then took a serious during 2008 in Katrina Kaif's birthday party which was hosted by Salman.
In an interview to a leading daily (after the tiff), when Salman was asked if SRK and he were friends, he replied by saying that he was not friend with him anymore. Though he accepted that they had problems before as well, Salman clearly said that this time, it CANNOT be sorted out.
Salman Khan also said, "We are two different people. Our values and way of thinking are different. It is better to declare than put on a fake façade of being friends and back-biting each other."
On Koffee With Karan show (2011), SRK apologised saying, "If Salman is angry with me, it is 100% my fault." But Salman said SRK's apology was for show's TRPs.

SRK And Sallu On The Sets of Karan Arjun
We all know that, SRK and Sallu had done few movies together (Karan Arjun, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Hum Tumhare Hai Sanam and Om Shanti Om). Karan Arjun was produced by Hrithik Roshan's father, Rakesh Roshan. This is a rare picture of SRK, Salman and Hrithik on the movie sets.

Srk And Sallu In Zee Cine Awards
In Lux Zee cine awards, SRK got best actor award. After receiving this award, SRK said, "There is a close friend of mine who has always been saying that SRK gets all the awards and not him (which is none other than Salman)." Then SRK called Salman as 'gentlemen' and asked him to thank all on his behalf. There was also a funny thanking speech from Salman. SRK in turn gave the award to Salman, Sallu thanked him and said he loves SRK.
SRK And Sallu In Indian Sangeet Awards
In Indian Sangeet Awards, SRK and Sallu were nominated for best actor-singer (SRK for Josh - Apan bola and Sallu for Hello Brothers - Chandi ki dhal). SRK was announced the winner. SRK said, "Salman was trying hard for this award but maybe I did not sing as good as Salman and I don't look as good as him, but my body is better than Salman, and that's why may be I am given this award (laughs)." SRK dedicated Kal Ho Na Ho title song to Salman and also thanked him for the award.
SRK And Sallu In Sensational Concert
In 2005 (after long gap), Shahrukh and Salman shared a stage together. Both presented each other with the promoter's Videocon's 'Sensational Icon's 2005' award. Shahrukh referred to Salman as 'the Biggest Superstar' in the world. Shahrukh said that Salman is a wonderful human being. He also said that Salman and his family have always been on his side and his strength. Salman was very kind to SRK when he came down to Mumbai. Later, both ended up with hugs and handshakes.
SRK And Sallu In KBC 3
The final episode of this season's KBC 3 (2007), hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, had Salman and Katrina, which was very entertaining with Salman's joke and SRK's humorous talks. There were many funny moments. Moments like SRK asking Salman to announce a break, which Salman announced in Amitabh Bachchan tone, and then in SRK's accent. For this SRK replied by saying, "I'll get you for this Salman." They both danced together for 'Bhangra Pale' (Karan Arjun) and did few stunts of Bruce Lee.
