Pran
Kishan
Sikand,
who
is
popularly
known
by
the
name
Pran,
passed
away
at
the
Lilavati
Hospital
on
Friday
evening
(July
12)
following
prolonged
illness.
He
was
93.
His
filmography
boasts
of
over
400
projects,
which
prove
his
versatility
in
essaying
a
hero,
character
artist
and
the
bad
man,
in
his
trademark
style.
Pran
was
born
in
a
rich
family
in
Lahore,
Pakistan
on
Feb
12,
1920.
After
the
partition
of
India,
Pran,
who
had
married
Shukla
in
1945
(the
couple
later
had
two
sons,
Arvind,
Sunil,
and
daughter
Pinky),
decided
to
leave
the
Lahore
film
industry
and
shift
to
then
Bombay.
Though
he
started
his
career
as
a
hero,
it
was
the
roles
of
a
bad
man
that
established
his
career
in
Bollywood.
He
was
seen
in
the
role
of
hero
from
1940-47,
and
as
a
villain
from
1942-1991.
