Deepika Padukone Did Not Prepare To Be Raw And Rusty In Ram Leela
We have all watched the trailer and the songs of Ram Leela. With each new still and sequence from the movie, our appreciation for Deepika Padukone just keeps increasing. The actress not only looks like a goddess in the film but also has danced like one. She is effortless and flawless from the glimpses we have got so far.
Most of us may assume that Deepika must have spent a lot of time preparing for her character in the movie. However, we now learn that she did not prepare much for Ram Leela because she was ready to be moulded by the director of the film Sanjay Leela Bhansali. "I think my biggest learning on this film was to not prepare, because that's his (Bhansali) way of filmmaking. It's easier if you go as a blank slate and allow him to mould you.," Deepika explained.
Deepika Padukone is anyway known for her natural and raw acting so she just stayed spontaneous for this one. She just let Bhansali do his job and she clearly followed his instructions. Judging from the trailers, Deepika looks lovely and has also acted beautifully. She has grabbed all the eye-balls the movie needed and now we all eagerly await for Ram Leela's release on November 15.

Gujarati girl
Deepika, who plays a Gujarati girl in Ram Leela says that she has never done film like this one. "I haven't done a film ('Ram-Leela') which is so rustic and earthy," she said.
Ranveer-Deepika Chemistry
Deepika is paired opposite Ranveer in the film. Here's what the actress has to say about her co-star, " He has a lot of energy. He has done a lot of research for the film and he's an extremely helpful co-star. It's been wonderful working with him and I think he is one of the finest actors of our generation."

"I am a little nervous, a little anxious but I think it's always nice to have that feeling. It's like a test. Every Friday is that moment of truth where you've believed in a film, given your sweat and blood and the only thing that you can do is hope the audience sees the same thing that you saw in that film," Deepika said.
Tattoos And Bindi
To add authenticity to her role in Ram Leela, Deepika got tattoos pained on her neck and face. She even wore a big bindi on her forehead for a few scenes.

Deepika donned a heavy lehenga for Ram Leela. It is reported that this ghagra weighs 30 kilos. She found it difficult to shoot a few sequences due to the heavy costumes.

Rubbished Rumours
There were a few rumours making rounds that Deepika Padukone used a body double for the song 'nagada sang', but the actress has rubbished all reports. She even said, " Who is spreading these rumours? You want to see the sores of my feet? How badly the skin has come off? I've worked very hard, don't take away the credit."
