Exclusive interview: Aurangzeb actor Arjun Kapoor

He made girls go crazy for him in his very first film Ishaaqzade, and now he is all set to play a double role in his next film Aurangzeb. In an exclusive interview with Oneindia reporter Sonika, Arjun talked about his personal and professional life. Read the excerpts...

You are playing a double role in Aurangzeb. Which character did you enjoy playing more - Negative or positive?
I am playing both Ajay and Vishal in the film. I enjoyed playing Vishal's role because I somehow relate to it. Ajay's character is negative and I think people will like him more.

Why you didn't start your career with your father Boney Kapoor's film?
A son is always an asset for his father. A father expects his son to increase his business. Film making is also a business, and if a father is making a film for his son, he will get emotionally connected to it. So you can't work like an actor in that film. When Yash Raj offered me a film I said yes because I wanted them to see me as an actor and made the film accordingly. Now I am in a position where I can work with my father so I am also doing a film with him.

If given a chance, which film you would like to do of your father's?
I would love to do Mr India and not the remake as I think it would be wrong to make its remake. But if the sequel is made, then I would like to be a part of it.

You gave many intimate scenes in your very first film. Even in your second film, you have some steamy scenes with Sasha Agha. Was it difficult for you to do such scenes in the start of your career?
No, it was not difficult because these things happen in real life. Audience have also accepted it. It's media who creates such a hype so that they can write a good gossip. When we read the script, we know that the film would have intimate scene and if we are not comfortable we can say no to the film.

The intimate scene in Ishaaqzade was the most important one. That scene was a turning point for the movie. In Aurangzeb also intimate scenes are the part of the story. But the credit of kissing on screen should go to Bhatt's films and Emraan Hashmi who have made these things so easy and common.

Tell us about your first kiss.
Earlier, I was very fat and used to stay away from girls. But now I am starting it by kissing on screen.

People say that you are very shy. Is it true?
I am not shy, I believe in giving space to people. I spend so much time with my film's actress that our friendship reaches a different level. I used to spend so much time with Parineeti during Ishaaqzade, but there was nothing like an affair. Same goes with Sasha. I am an introvert and private person but not shy.

Are you on social networking sites?
No, I am not. I am a very honest person and I don't want to write something on Twitter for which people will abuse and curse me. And I don't want that. This is the reason why I stay away from social networking sites.

Did you reduce weight for Aurangzeb and Gundey?
I have reduced a lot of weight for Aurangzeb, but I don't remember exactly how much. My weight increases when I see food, but I keep a check on my diet.

You always wanted to be an actor. If yes, what were your preparations?
I wanted to be an actor since my childhood, but I took time to understand it. And Salman Khan helped me a lot to understand this fact. He also helped me a lot with my health and diet.

Do you often meet Salman Khan?
Yes. I also showed him the trailer of Aurangzeb. He was very happy. In fact, I was shocked to see his response. He praised me a lot. He also loved my long hair in the film. He always used to tell me that you should focus on your style now as you are an actor. He also told me to do action and he was very happy to see that in Aurangzeb.

You give the credit of your success to whom?
My nani and mausi are my strengths. After my mother's death my nani took care of me. Every morning she asks me where I am going for a shoot today. My mother did a lot for me. She gave her whole life to me and I miss her a lot.

Your sister has any plans to join Bollywood?
My sister is happy to work in Google. She is my honest critic and tells me how I have performed. She does not want to come in acting.
