IIFA 2013: Barfi, the clear winner; sweeps 14 awards
The much-awaited final winners' list of 14th edition of the International Indian Film Academy Awards is out. And, Anurag Basu's movie Barfi emerged as the clear winner, sweeping the maximum of 14 awards by defeating Vicky Donor, Gangs Of Wasseypur and many more at IIFA, 2013.
Barfi is a romantic comedy movie, that revolves around the story of a mute and deaf man named 'Barfi' and his relationship with two women. The movie was praised by critics as well as the audience for its positive portrayal of physically disabled people, a somewhat unusual theme for Bollywood screenplays.
Barfi has beaten all the other movies and swept the Best Film Award. Ranbir Kapoor and Anurag Basu received the Best Actor and Best Director's trophy, respectively. Following that, Anurag Kashyap's Gangs of Wasseypur won two awards - Best Action (Shyam Kaushal) and Best Dialogue (Zeishan Quadri, Akhilesh, Sachin Ladia and Anurag Kashyap) which is shared with Juhi Chaturvedi for Vicky Donor.
