Before entering films, Abhishek Bachchan was doing business studies in the United States, but changed his mind and came back to India to help his father Amitabh Bachchan, who was going through a very rough phase at that time. Later Abhishek decided to try his luck in Bollywood.

Abhishek Bachchan made his acting debut with JP Dutta's Refugee. But the movie did not do any wonders for the actor and sank without leaving a trace. However, Abhishek received critical acclaim for his work in Yuva (2004), Sarkar (2005), Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006) and Guru (2007). In 2010, Abhishek entered into production and produced Paa (2009) along with Sunil Manchanda. Paa was a commercial as well as critical success and the movie also won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi.
