Aishwariya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan have been doing movies together since 2000. The first movie they did together was Dhai Akshar Prem Ke. At that time, Abhishek Bachchan was not as successful as Aishwarya. From 2000 to 2006, Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan worked in many movies but they were only good friends. Rumours has it that their romance started on the sets of Bunty Aur Babli, where Aishwarya was shooting for her item song 'Kajra Re' with Amitabh and Abhishek.

Abhi-Ash's romance is just like a Bollywood movie. It has lots of suspense, romance and drama. Their love story began six years ago on the sets of JP Dutta's Umrao Jaan.

Abhishek Bachchan once revealed that he used to stand on the balcony of his hotel room (when he was filming in New York) and used to think about Aishwarya Rai and their marriage. So, after the premiere of the film Guru, he took her to the very same balcony and asked Aishwarya to marry him.

After coming back to Mumbai, the couple got engaged on January 14, at the Bachchan's residence. After much speculation, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya's wedding took place on April 20, 2007.
