Famous Celebrity Child Custody Battles
Rhea Pillai and Leander custody battle has started, Rhea has found supporters in many of her Bollywood friends including Gauri Khan, who came to her rescue when she was locked out of the Bandra apartment that she shared with Leander Paes. While Rhea had spoken to the media about her woes Leander had remained silent.
Recently Leander spoke up and cleared the air that the accusations made by Rhea were all false and that his team of lawyers have documentary proof to support every claim that he has made while filing for guardianship of their daughter. The tennis champ filed a criminal complaint against his live-in partner for being a non-caring mother, who according to Paes has had no role in bringing up their eight-year-old. He went on to express his love for his daughter Aiyana and plans on taking the necessary legal steps to seek her custody.

Karisma Kapoor and Sanjay Kapur
After the news of a troubled marriage, it was reported that Karisma and Sanjay were fighting for the custody of their kids. The latter has apparently even filed a petition at a Bandra family court seeking guardianship of their nine-year-old daughter, Samaira. The reason that was being cited in the case is that the couple lives in different cities! The couple later patched up and went onto have another kid together. But again within few months the relationship went sour and the couple separated.
Leander Paes and Rhea Pillai
The celebrity couple was apparently never married but cracks in their relationship had started appearing soon after they welcomed Aiyana into their lives in 2006. Things took an ugly turn when Paes approached a family court to file a guardianship petition seeking permanent custody of their daughter. His reason was that Pillai is irresponsible and self-indulgent! Now we can only wait and watch how this custody battle unfolds.
Kamal Haasan and Sarika
Kamal Haasan and Sarika welcomed their first child Shruti in 1986, two years prior to their marriage. Their second daughter, Akshara was born in 1991 and by then Sarika had moved to Chennai to raise a family. But in 2004 the couple grew apart owing to Haasan's innumerable affairs following which they got involved in a custody battle for their daughters. Sarika finally won and moved back to Mumbai with them.
Kavita and Raj Kundra
A lot has been spoken about Raj Kundra's previous marriage with Kavita. Rumours also suggest that the business tycoon cheated on her, and that his current wife Shilpa Shetty had a role in breaking up their family. After which Kavita apparently had also approached the court to deny Raj custody of their daughter, Deleena. He lost the case eventually.
Sanjay Dutt and Richa Sharma’s parents
It was in 1987 that Sanjay Dutt married an aspiring actress by the name of Richa Sharma. Everything was running smoothly with the couple even after they welcomed their first child, Trishala. But trouble hit their marriage when the actor was accused of possessing illegal weapons soon after the Mumbai bomb blasts in 1993. Unfortunately, Sharma died of a brain tumour following which Dutt found himself in a dramatic custody battle with his in-laws over Trishala. He eventually lost and his daughter went on to live with her grandparents in the US.
