10 Bollywood Celebrities Who Took Up The Ice Bucket Challenge

The Ice Bucket Challenge, sometimes called the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, is an activity involving dumping a bucket of ice water on one's head or donating to the ALS Association in the United States. It went viral throughout social media during the Northern Hemisphere summer of 2014.

The challenge dares nominated participants to be filmed having a bucket of ice water poured on their heads. A common stipulation is that nominated people have 24 hours to comply or forfeit by way of a charitable financial donation. A number of Bollywood celebrities are seen taking part in this challenge.

Riteish Deshmukh was the first one to start of this challenge, he was nominated by Sania Mirza. The actor took up the challenge during the shooting of his upcoming movie Bangistan and nominated five other actors to take up this challenge and they were Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Sidharth Malhotra, Pulkit sharma and Ashish Chowdary.

Akshay Kumar who was shooting in Capetown for his upcoming dance show, Dare To Dance took up the challenge at the shooting location. The temperature was said to be 8 degree Celsius and the actor chose to take sea water instead of normal water as he didn't want to waste any good drinking water on this challenge.

Akshay chose to challenge his wife and Salman Khan, including this the Dabangg star has now been challenged twice. It is yet to see if he will take up the challenge as the star has only 24 hours left. Salman who is very active when it comes to such charity cause may very well take up this challenge.

The actor accepted the challenge from Riteish Deshmukh and in turn nominated Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor and Mohit Suri.

Akshay Kumar

He too was challenged by Riteish and he in turn nominated his wife Twinkle Khanna, Salman Khan and Jhonny Lever.

Riteish Deshmukh

He accepted Sania Mirza's challenge and nominated Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Sidharth Malhotra, Pulkit Samrat and Ashish Chowdary.

Abhishek Bachchan

Abhishek Bachchan completed his challenge and in turn nominated the entire team of Happy New Year, his father Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan.

Sonakshi Sinha

Nobody nominated her and so Sonakshi started her own save water campaign.

Bipasha Basu

Bipashu was nominated by friend, but the actress din't nominate anybody.

Daler Mehendi

He nominated Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra.

Hansika Motwani

The Bollywood actress who has risen to the top in south film industries also took part in the challenge.

Mandira Bedi

She accepted Ashish Chowdary's challenge and nominated Karan Wahi, Vishal Dadhlani and Sohail Khan.
