Bollywood' biggest stars own huge luxury homes in their home city Mumbai, thanks to the huge moolah they earn per movie. But there are many Bollywood celebs who are still staying in rented homes. So let's find out which celeb stays in a rented home and why.
Most of the Bollywood celebs have managed to get their dream homes while there are still those few who haven't dared to buy a home due to their fluctuating career. Many of these celebs have entered Bollywood just a few years ago and have still not carved a niche for themselves so it gets quite difficult for them to buy a home in Mumbai with the property rates reaching sky high. These Bollywood celebs have different reasons for not owning a home and preferring to stay in a rented house.
The first reason they avoid to buy a home is due to the property rates, they do end up paying a bomb for renting a place but when it comes to owning they are not really sure if they should invest so much money in the beginning of their career. While actresses like Sunny Leone are not finding that "right place", she owns several homes across the world but has still not found a place she loves. Some celebs don't want to settle in Mumbai in the long run and thus don't want to invest in buying a home here, when they very well want to spend their time traveling.
Actresses like Elli Avram and Tapsee Pannu say that the reason they don't own homes is due to the difficulty they face to get home loans from Banks. Due to their fluctuating income Bank doesn't provide loans and that's why they prefer renting an apartment and waiting it out, to find the right home as they are still new to the city.
Let's check out many such celebs from Bollywood who are still staying in rented homes than buying one...
Bollywood Celebs Who Are Staying Rented Homes:
She has apparently been renting Celina Jaitley's Yari Road penthouse for the last two years. The actress was quoted saying to a leading daily, "We own several homes in the world, once we find something we love we will purchase a place in Mumbai as well."
It's been three years the actress as debuted but she apparently still stays in rented apartment. While there have been reports that she has bought the home she is living in, but it's still not confirmed. Seeing that she makes a lot of money from ads and movies, may be she has bought. Who knows?
It is said that she too is staying in a rented apartment, but the home she stays in has been decked with some beautiful interiors. While if the reports are true or not, it's not sure.
The actress is reported to be staying in a rented apartment, but she has managed to buy an island near Sri Lanka. Well guess this pretty lass knows where to invest her money.
Aditi Rao Hydari
Though she comes from a very known and prestigious family, meaning she might have the moolah to buy a home, the actress is said to be reportedly staying in a rented apartment. Guess she just hasn't found her perfect home yet.
The actor lives in Andheri, be it own or rented this man sure knows how to protect his home for he single handedly nabbed the thieves who tried to break into his home 2 years back.
She has just found her foot holding in the industry and that's why, probably she is waiting it out to buy a home. But the pretty lass sure managed to buy a luxury car first. Good going gal.
He too allegedly stays in a rented apartment in Mumbai.
The director is one of the highest paid in our country, but he still stays in rented apartment. The reason may be simply being that this is not his hometown and thus he doesn't want to invest here. The director does own properties back in his home town.
He has rented a Versova apartment for one and a half year snow. He told a leading newspaper, "I want to do roles of my choice and be happy, rather than do films for money and buy a house. I am very comfortable in a rented apartment right now and I will buy a house when I feel I can afford it without making bad choices. I can't forget that I came to Mumbai to do good work and not to buy a house."
Amit Sadh told a leading daily, "Owning a place or renting it has nothing to do with our celebrity status. When you go to rent a place, people tend to ask you questions like, ‘Will you invite girls over?' and such. Thankfully, my landlords have been welcoming and as long as they let me play loud music and party every Saturday, I am fine with renting a flat. I have just rented a place in Bandra."
She feels it's impossible for a celebrity to buy a home in Mumbai at the beginning of their career.
The actress who starred in Chashme Badoor told a leading daily, "I need to know the city well before I buy a house here. Also, with the prices here being sky high, I don't know if the property value will appreciate any further. The other issue is actors don't get loans easily because of our fluctuating incomes; that is a major hassle for us."
The actress who debuted in Vicky Donor first stayed in Versova then she shifted to Malad and now finally she lives in Bandra. She too quoted to a leading daily, "The process of taking a bank loan is riddled with obstacles and it's time-consuming. Often finding a guarantor is not easy either, though I admit renting a place has its own problems like finding a good landlord and being accepted by the housing society, especially for us actors."
The director too is apparently staying in a rented home in Mumbai.
