Gone are the days when actors and actresses would shy away from a kissing scene. Now their mantra is "If the script demands then why not?". They follow this mantra to such an extent that they are even ready to do gay kissing scenes in Bollywood movies.
Times have changed, as audiences we too have grown and have accepted such scenes in movies. Some directors use such gimmicks to just draw crowds into the theater, not all though. There are some raw filmmakers who like to depict some untold stories or some unspoken experiences on screen.

Lisa Ray and Sheetal Sheth
Lisa Ray and Sheetal Sheth share a love making scene in the film 'I Can't Think Straight'. Directed by Shamim Sarif, the film was rumoured to be based on their real life relationship. Incidentally, Lisa and Sheetal worked together again in the film 'The World Unseen' also directed by Shamim Sarif and once again based on lesbian love.
Saqib Saleem and Randeep Hooda
Bombay Talkies celebrated 100 years of Indian cinema, they were so eager to show the change over the years that they did not hesitate to show a kissing scene between two male actors. Actors Saqib Saleem and Randeep Hooda share a passionate kiss onscreen. The film was directed by Karan Johar who made a rather bold attempt with this cinema.
Shabana Azmi and Nandita Das
Both Shabana Azmi and Nandita Das are excellent actresses. They being thorough professionals did not shy away from enacting a lesbian love making scene in Deepa Mehta's Fire. A unusual love story between two sister-in-laws, Shabana and Nandita have a lovemaking scene together. Deepa Mehta has aesthetically shot this lovemaking scene that adds to the story's depth.
Rahul Bose and Arjun Mathur
I Am is an anthology film by Onir, one of the four films is on gay rights that stars actors Rahul Bose and Arjun Mathur. It has a lovemaking scene between Rahul Bose and Arjun Mathur. Rahul was quoted in an interview, "There shouldn't be any hype about a man kissing another man. I did kiss a man in "I Am" but how is it any different from kissing a woman that I don't know in my films."
Kapil Sharma and Yuvraaj Parasher
The film Dunno Y...Na Jaane Kyun is a film that talks about gay romance. Kapil Sharma who also plays the main lead in the film wrote the story as well. It premiered at India's first mainstream gay film festival. The film's kissing scene between Kapil Sharma and Yuvraaj Parasher faced a lot of disapproval especially from Yuvraaj's family who legally disowned him as they felt he brought shame on their family. Yuvraaj got acclaim by then Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Chhagan Bhujpal for his sensitive portrayal of the gay community.
