Shahrukh Khan's Happy New Year got the cash registers ringing for the actor for the movie was produced under his banner, Red Chillies Entertainment. The film released on Diwali and the festival proved to be very lucky for the actor.

This is not the first time Diwali proved to be auspicious for Shahrukh, most of his movies, from his debut in Baazigar to the iconic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, all his super hit movies released on Diwali. While Eid proves to be lucky for Salman Khan and Christmas for Aamir Khan, Diwali is lucky for Shahrukh Khan.

Happy New Year which released on the eve of Diwali went onto create Box Office records with it receiving the biggest opening any Bollywood movie has ever released. The movie collected over Rs 44.97 crores on the first day at the domestic market and within three days of its release the film went onto cross the 100 crore mark.

A lot of the credit goes to the unique promotions the HNY team adopted and even now they are campaigning and sharing the success of the film by visiting different cities in the country. What more, Salman Khan also promoted his movie on his television show, so now along with Shahrukh's fans even Salman's fans would have rushed to theatres to watch the movie.

According to trade experts the movie may well cross the Rs 150 crores mark within tomorrow.
