India's Most Desirable Men
Time's Most Desirable list was out a few days back. They say the one who causes you to lust after him possesses the desirability quotient. Voting was conducted among lakhs of Indians who chose the top 50 Most Desirable men in India.
It was sad and shocking to see Hrithik Roshan on rank 2, he was beaten by Telugu super star Mahesh Babu who went from rank 2 in 2012 to rank 1 in 2013 list. Telugu star Mahesh Babu is called Prince down South for a reason. It's the actor's regal looks and his suave ways that make him popular. He is married to Bollywood actress Namrata Shirodkar and his desirability quotient lies in his boyish charm. He has also earned another nickname - Milk Boy - and with his six pack abs, this cute boy seems to ave transformed into a sexy man.
On spot two is our very own Greek God Hrithik Roshan, we need not define his desirability quotient for the man has it all. Great looks, six pack abs, hit films and everything. The actor has off late been in lime light owing to his personal life problems. That instant feeling of desire is what makes the person climb the charts on the 50 Most Desirable.
It's has got nothing to do with success, good looks, popularity and fan following of the celebrity, it is purely based on the desirability quotient for that year. If someone tops the chart one year, there's no guarantee he or she will be in the Top 10 the next year. In fact this year onwards, they have created a separate list for those who will be Forever Desirable. Men like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar. Women like Aishwarya Rai - Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor Khan - they will stay forever beautiful, forever desired. The separate listing of the stars who're Forever Desirable shall make room for more new entrants who could be possible winners in the future and surprise entrants based on their body of work.
It's not just restricted to our Bollywood industry, the list truly name Indian most Desirable Men from every field possible. Virat Kohli and mahindra Singh dhoni too feature on this list. But we are hoping to list out the Bollywood actors who featured on India's 50 Most Desirable List.
Hrithik Roshan -Rank 2
India's very own Greek God was in his most loved avatar as a Superhero in the sci fi movie 'Krrish 3'. It was a Diwali release & it broke most records at the box office. Hrithik Roshan's larger than life persona in 'Krrish 3' where he does everything to saving lives to helping people to dancing to romance got a tremendous response from the audiences, fans as well as critics. The hot hunk gave a scare to his fans when he had to go for brain surgery, though all is well now.
Farhan Akhtar-Rank 3
He lived, breathed & pursued 'Milkha'. Yes, its Farhan Akhtar who gave a performance of a lifetime with 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag'. Right from taking lessons from the legend himself, following a strict workout & getting under the skin of the character to play the role, Farhan deserves hundred percent kudos for being the Milkha of our times. Not to mention, the perfect physique he acquired for his role, which had many women swooning over him. On the filmmaking front he produced 'Fukrey' & is now concentrating more on his acting assignments.
Ranveer Singh-Rank 5
Ranveer Singh had his first release of 2013 with 'Lootera' where he played a conman. Then came his dream role of playing Ram in Sanjay Leela Bansali's 'Ram Leela' where his physique, acting & on screen chemistry with Deepika were the highs of the film. He is mum on his relationship status with Deepika but has been spotted with the actress even in NY.
Ranbir Kapoor-Rank 6
Bollywood's true rockstar, Ranbir Kapoor had a blockbuster start to 2013 with 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani'. Not only did it create a lot of buzz for bringing together ex lovers Ranbir and Deepika, the film became a rage & became the highest grosser in Ranbir's career. Next was the much hyped Ranbir starrer 'Besharam' where he shared screen space with his parents Rishi Kapoor & Neetu Singh. But the movie sank without a trace. But other than that, Ranbir splashed the tabloids when pictures of him and Katrina holidaying in Ibiza were leaked. Question him & he maintains a dignified silence. The heart throb has been signed on by top brands as their brand ambassadors & has signed interesting mix of films.

This hot hunk had a variety of releases in 2013. It started with 'Inkaar' where he plays the suave CEO of an ad agency who is accused of sexual harassment. Then, in the action thriller 'D Day' Arjun played an intense cold blooded assassin who is responsible for his own actions & is on a mission to bring back India's most wanted man. A role where his brooding intensity made him look hotter than ever. And there was 'Satyagraha', where he played a young politician.
John Abraham-Rank 8
Handsome hunk, John Abraham had a long line up of movie releases in 2013. First was 'Race 2', where John looked stylish to the hilt. This was followed by his metrosexual role in 'I me aur Main'. Then came John in a completely grunge avatar in his role as Manya Surve in 'Shootout At Wadala'. And last was the controversial film that he produced & acted in, 'Madras Cafe' . Though John dismissed it as a work of fiction some political parties protested its release. It was all about his image, his tough guy look, his struggle & it was a delight to see John in new light.
Aditya Roy Kapoor- Rank 9
In 2013's blockbuster hit, 'Aashiqui 2', Aditya Roy Kapur played a fading singer whose angst and struggle he portrayed with so much earnest that it melted many hearts right away. And the lead pair, Aditya & Shraddha's onscreen romance hit the right chord with the youngsters. Earlier in 2013, Aditya also impressed with his role in 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani'. Clearly, a young talent who is turning into quite a national heartthrob.

Finally after a string of flops, chocolate boy Shahid Kapoor bounced back in 2013 with two releases. First was 'Phata Poster Nikhla Hero' where Shahid Kapoor dreams of becoming an actor which had him doing comedy & action. Then in 'R Rajkumar' he teamed up with Prabhudeva who showcased his dancing skills and action finesse & got him a much a deserved hit. Shahid's one line dialogues were a huge hit. And of course, good news for all the ladies out there is that he is still single!

Through 2013, this 'Student of The Year' star was riding high on the success of his movie released in 2012. He was performing at award functions, busy on endorsement sprees & his single status was keeping the girls hooked on their feet. In 2013, he was shooting for Karan Johar's 'Hasee Toh Phasee' opposite Parineeti Chopra & has signed 'The Villain'.
Surya – Rank 12
This South superstar roared like a lion in 2013 at the box office. He had a sequel to his previous hit 'Singam' with 'Singam 2'. This time there was more action, more romance, more comedy & more dhamaka songs with Surya's signature style & effortless acting. He has been seen in many commercials & also sang for the first time in a coffee commercial.

He entered Bollywood with a bang in 'Student of The Year' in 2012. Though he didn't have a single release in 2013, he was constantly in the limelight. First it was performing at award functions & with endorsements. He shot for his dad David Dhawan's 'Main Tera Hero' & has also signed big banner films produced by the likes of Karan Johar.
Sushant Singh Rajput – Rank 16
This television star made his Bollywood debut with the much acclaimed 'Kai Po Che' in 2013. Next was 'Shuddh Desi Romance' which was a toss-up between live-in relationships and marriages. Sushant set the record by kissing 27 times on screen. On the personal front, he has always been open about his relationship with Ankita Lokhande. He has also signed films like Shekhar Kapur's 'Paani' where he will be playing the lead role.
Vidyut Jamwal- Rank 17
He's certainly the Bruce Lee of Bollywood. With his style, physique, attitude & looks he has taken action to a new level. Hence, 2013's 'Commando' was solely dependent on him as the lead hero & he was the reason why everyone came to watch the movie. From death defying stunts to chases, he's done it all & stunned everyone. He worked hard & gave it all for this role. In 'Bullett Raja' he had a cameo where he was specially required to do action scenes.
Arjun Kapoor – Rank 20
This 'Ishaqzaade' star had a solo release in 2013 playing a double role in 'Aurangzeb'. He delivered a strong performance in both the characters in this fast paced potboiler. He has also shot for 'Gunday' & is shooting for '2 States' opposite Alia Bhatt where he plays a geek. He maintains that he talks less & let his work speak. His fans just love his intense eyes & cool demeanor.
Saif Ali Khan – Rank 21
The dapper Chote Nawab had an interesting mix of films in 2013. It started with 'Race 2' where he continues to play the suave guy who wants to avenge the death of his wife. He was stylish in every sense. In 'Go Goa Gone', Saif experimented with a new look, new accent & a new concept altogether. Then, finally there was 'Bullett Raja' where he played a rustic macho gangster to the hilt.
Ali Zafar- Rank 22
A hot favorite among the ladies, Ali Zafar, had only one release in 2013 with 'Chashme Baddoor'. Adding to his boyish good looks & charm onscreen, he even lent his voice to the songs. Ali Zafar has also been crowned the sexiest Asian on planet of 50 Sexiest Asian Men in The World.
Ram Charan Teja- Rank 23
In 2013, this Telugu superstar was the centre of attraction in Bollywood as he was stepping into the shoes of Big B by reprieving his role in 'Zanjeer'. Though the film was in the news from the time it was announced, curiosity grew once the release date began to approach. When the film arrived it was well received in Andhra and though Ram Charan gave his best, comparisons to the original were inevitable. And though, Bollywood fans didn't quite bite the bait, Ram Charan's oozing sex appeal won him even more female fans.
Dhanush- Rank 25
The 'Kolaveri Di' Star who's a big name down South made his Bollywood debut with 'Raanjhanaa' & gained even more fans with his brilliant screen presence. Down South, he had 'Mariyan' in a role where he shares a deep bond with the sea & the film is set in 2 different continents. Dhanush's power packed performance & dialogues are to watch out for in the film. And last is a rural comedy 'Naiyaandi' which has crazy situations, romance & action.
Emraan Hashmi- Rank 26
The serial kisser of Bollywood had a couple of releases in 2013. His 1st release was 'Ek Thi Daayan' in which he was the central character surrounded by beautiful girls. He played a magician whose life was falling apart & he can't get rid of hallucinations that plague him. In 'Ghanchakkar' his pairing opposite Vidya Balan was different. He had selective amnesia. He played the character with poise. He is hardly seen out at public functions or events & is a very private person.
Ayushman Khurana- Rank 28
VJ turned actor, Ayushman Khurana had one release in 2013 with 'Nautanki Saala'. He played an actor & theatre director who played Raavan on stage where the character & comedy took more precedence than the star persona. He even sang in the film. His acting skills have earned him a film with Yashraj films.
Ajay Devgn- Rank 30
2013 was a mixed bag for Ajay Devgn with two films, brand endorsements & signing new films like 'Singham 2' & 'Action Jackson'. His first release was the much hyped 'Himmatwala' where Ajay did everything from action to romance to dancing to comedy but the film was too old fashioned to fly with the audience. Yet Ajay was it's only saving grace. His next release was 'Satyagraha' which also got a tepid response from the audience. Though 2013 was lukewarm for Ajay, he will be back in 2014 with Rohit Shetty in 'Singham 2' & Prabhu Deva's next 'Action Jackson'.
