    Ali Zafar was born on May 18th, 1980 in Lahore, Pakistan to Mohammad Zafarullah, Professor of Fine Arts and Kanwal Ameen, who worked in the Library Sciences department at Punjab University at the time. Yes, today is Ali Zafar's birthday and it's time we get this upcoming superstar a little bit better.

    He already has six films in Bollywood to his credit- Tere Bin Laden, Luv Ka The End, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, London Paris New York, Chashme Baddor and Total Siyappa. His upcoming film is Kill Dill with Ranveer Singh and Parineeti Chopra. He has a special appearence in Tere Bin Laden too. This good looking chap is slowly rising to the top and become one of the most sought out actors in Bollywood.

    He was a musician before he became an actor in Bollywood, he has even sang songs in the movie he starred. His most famous songs are London Paris New York, Palat Meri Jaan, Madhubala, Chal Buleya and Total Siyapaa.

    Ali Zafar’s first project

    Ali Zafar's first project as a singer was "Jugnuon se bhar de aanchal", a soundtrack of Samina Peerzada's film Shararat. Though his first single wasn't a hit but Ali Zafar later made it to the top with Channo, the single that almost everyone has heard. "Channo" remained in the top charts for a long time. It was from the album Huqa Pani which was his first one. Above five million copies of this album were sold worldwide.


    Since childhood, Ali Zafar loved to paint. He created his first comics at an early age of 8 years. Ali Zafar has worked at Pearl Continental Hotel's lobby as a scratch artist. Ali Zafar did portrait painting in a hotel lobby to earn some money. He used to complete making the portraits within 20 mins.


    In 2012 Ali Zafar was declared the third most googled musician leaving A.R Rehman behind.

    Hollywood Connection

    Ali Zafar's popular song ‘Dekha' had been featured in Hollywood movie Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps as a soundtrack making him the fourth Pakistani singer to have his song featured in any Hollywood movie. The song belongs to his second album Masty. The movie was released 2 years back in 2010.

    Ali Zafar's wife Ayesha Fazli remained his long-time fiancee for several years. She is paternally related to Aamir Khan - the Indian movie actor. Ali Zafar met his wife more than 10 years back to get a portrait of her in that hotel lobby.

    This phenomenal success of Tere Bin Laden made Ali Zafar a Bollywood star over night. Not only did he receive more than 40 offers post Tere Bin Laden but he also made history by being the first Pakistani actor to be nominated for any Bollywood awards. He got nominated for IIFA, Star Screen, Zee Cine and Filmfare awards of 2011 in the best male debut category. He was also the first Pakistani to be called to Indian Film Festival at Australia in March 2011 for his movie screening.
