Two superstars, Aamir Khan and Kamal Haasan come together to inaugurate FICCI Frames 2015. The two stars shared the stage with Sholay director Ramesh Sippy, where they opened up about a lot of things.
Aamir Khan apologized and felt ashamed for not supporting Kamal Haasan, he said, "I really feel ashamed that at that time I was lost in my work but as an industry that was the time we had to come together. I apologise to you (Kamal Hassan) publicly that I wasn't there at that time."
He added, "I feel bad that we weren't there with you. Banning a film is not right. Once the film has received the certification, it is the responsibility of the state to make sure that people can watch the film without any fear."
Kamal Haasan who is busy with his upcoming release, Uttama Villain feels controversies always follow him.
He said, "Even till last week, we were fighting a case in connection with my film ‘Papanasam'. We know who filed the case, and from where. It's like trouble and controversies always follow me."
I feel I'm always targeted. It has happened in the past too. For instance, people objected the title of my film ‘Mumbai Express'. They said the title wasn't in Tamil, but what's the Tamil word for Mumbai? In an earlier case, they didn't let me name one of my films ‘Sandiyar', and a few months ago, a film with the same name released. Why didn't anybody object to it," he asked.
Well, both Aamir and Kamal not only shared the stage yesterday but they share a similar controversial life as well. See pics of the event...
"I am totally against banning any kind of material. When the I&B minister spoke to us, he also clarified that actually the ministry has no such list of cuss words. It's a certification board and not the censor board. It was nice to hear that," Aamir said.
"Even till last week, we were fighting a case in connection with my film ‘Papanasam'. We know who filed the case, and from where. It's like trouble and controversies always follow me," Kamal told.
"It's one of the other branches of film business. We have to do business in all directions," said Haasan.
Kamal Inaugurates FICCI Frames
The two superstars, Aamir Khan and Kamal Haasan came together in order to inaugurate FICCI Frames 2015.
"I am not someone who talks about my number. That is the last thing on my mind when I am selecting a film. The day I start selecting a film on the possible commercial success, that will be the end of my creativity. I feel that commercial interest stifles growth," he added.
