Aishwarya Rai To Preity: Actresses Who Were Victims Of Domestic Violence

What is happening to the men these days? As if the ongoing issues were not enough with rape and murders then the men are resorting to assaulting their own women.

Bollywood yesteryear actress Rati Agnihotri became the latest victim of domestic violence. Rati on March 14th lodged a complaint of domestic violence at the police station against her husband, Anil Virmani.

Senior police inspector, Worli police station, Vinay Kulkarni said, "The case is a domestic matter and investigations are under way. Virmani has complied with every request made by the police. On Saturday, he came to the station in the evening and recorded his statement."

They have registered the case under Sections 498 (harassment to a married woman), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 350 (criminal force) of the Indian Penal Code.

Along with Rati, four other people including the household's helps recorded their statements. Vinay added, "In her complaint, she said her husband had beaten her up on March 7 over a dispute."

This is not the first time this is happening, actress Preity Zinta too had lodged a complaint against her ex beau, Ness Wadia for threatening to make her disappear as well as physical assault.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who is happily married to Abhishek Bachchan was also a victim once, at which point her parents intervened and lodged a complaint against Salman Khan for vandalizing their property.

Cases like these have time and again been cropping up in the Bollywood industry and so far about 6 Bollywood actresses have been victims to domestic violence.
