Hollywood and Bollywood industry have a closer connection than you think they have. Hollywood movies release across every country in the world so one may expect them to have a bigger fan base, but that's not true when it comes to Bollywood.
Bollywood movies may not release in as many countries as Hollywood movies do, but every person across the world knows about our industry even the Hollywood celebrities themselves.
Hindi actors have acted in a number of their movies playing prominent roles. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in fact had the leading role in the Pink Panthers movie series.
So be it Amitabh Bachchan, Kabir Bedi, Mallika Sherawat or many other stars who have acted in Hollywood movies, they have always had a prominent role. With growing popularity of our industry, Oscar nominated directors offered lucrative movie roles to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and even Hrithik Roshan but all of these stars rejected it and opted to shoot for the desi films instead.
Deepika Padukone had in fact got the opportunity to star in the seventh installment of the Fast and Furious movie but she opted out seeking to do films like Ram Leela, Chennai Express and Happy New Year, each different from the other and all these films she was a part of minted over Rs 100 crores at the Box Office.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is already a famous icon! Irrespective for her Hollywood movie roles, she is known across the world but one major shocking role that she rejected was the role of Briseis in Troy that was offered to her by multiple Oscar nominated director Wolfgang Petersen. The light eyed actress could have easily romanced Brad Pitt but apparently the romancing part was what Aishwarya was against as she felt it was not her cup of tea. Lucky Abhi I guess!
Priyanka Chopra

She was offered a role in Tarsem Singh's Immortals opposite Henry Cavill but the dusky beauty rejected it and opted to do Bollywood movie Saath Khoon Maaf instead.

Deepika Padukone has made the whole nation fall in love with her but when a lucrative job of a Hollywood movie role which could have made the whole world love her, Dimpy said, No thank you!

But unfortunately, I couldn't do it due to date problems. I did see the film and I do regret not being part of the film."
