Bombay
Velvet's
trailer
got
launched
yesterday,
the
movie
has
obtained
mixed
reviews
from
people.
While
some
liked
the
whole
feel
of
the
movie
boasting
off
about
Karan
Johar's
acting
prowess,
some
felt
the
trailer
was
long
and
uninteresting.
Bombay
Velvet
stars
Ranbir
Kapoor,
Anushka
Sharma,
Karan
Johar
and
Kay
Kay
Menon
in
pivotal
roles.
Directed
by
Anurah
Kashyap
the
movie
was
supposed
to
star
Shahrukh
Khan
or
Aamir
Khan
in
the
lead
roles
but
unfortunately
Anurag
could
not
convince
either
of
them
to
accept
the
role.
The
movie
is
based
on
historian
Gyan
Prakash's
book
Mumbai
Fables.Prof
Gyan
is

specializing
in
Modern
Indian
History
at
Princeton,
he
has
written
a
story
about
the
journey
of
Bombay
in
the
1960's.
It
is
a
story
of
a
cage
fighter,
Johnny
Balraj,
and
an
aspiring
jazz
singer,
Rosie,
and
how
their
dreams
collide
with
the
realities
of
life.
What
more,
the
leading
couple
of
the
movie
will
also
be
seen
doing
some
heavy
love
making
scenes.
If
sources
are
to
be
believed
then
Ranbir
and
Anushka
will
share
more
than
seven
steamy
lip-lock,
the
source
said,
"There
will
be
seven
kisses
between
Ranbir
and
Anushka.
They
look
electrifying
together
and
Anurag
Kashyap
has
made
good
use
of
their
crackling
chemistry."
The
movie
is
spread
over
20
years
and
depicts
the
growth
of
each
character
like
how
Rosie
will
go
on
to
become
rich
and
famous.
The
movie
seems
to
be
quite
interesting
but
sadly
has
received
a
lot
of
negative
reviews
criticizing
each
and
every
aspect
of
the
movie
like
Anushka's
barbie
doll
looks,
Karan's
over
the
top
expressions
etc.
But
personally
l
feel
the
movie
is
intriguing
and
will
be
a
sure
shot
winner
among
the
audience.
To
know
why
I
am
saying
so,
you
need
to
what
Bombay
Velvet
is
all
about.
So
go
on,
read
and
I
am
sure
you
too
shall
like
the
movie...

Main
Villain
The
trailer
has
kept
the
viewers
confused
on
who
the
real
villain
is.
While
it
has
always
been
portrayed
that
Karan
Johar
will
be
playing
the
antagonist
character,
we
saw
Ranbir
threatening
to
kill
Anushka's
character.
So
there
might
be
a
big
twist
in
the
tale.
Locations
Ranbir
Kapoor
revealed
that
the
movie
will
have
the
feel
of
famous
gangster
movies
like
Godfather
and
Scarface. And
to
keep
it
as
real
as
possible,
the
makers
have
shot
majority
of
Bombay
Velvet
at
real
locations
in
Sri
Lanka
rather
than
built
up
sets.
