Sridevi To Dhanush: 14 Famous Tamilians In Bollywood

Tamilians in Bollywood are many, from Rekha, Sridevi to the latest entrant Akshara Haasan. So today, on Tamil New Year, instead of boring wishes, I thought of listing 14 prominent Tamil actors and actresses in the Bollywood industry.

The oldest one will probably be Rekha and Hema Malini, born to Tamil parents, they thrived in Bollywood for decades, with their simple beauty and immense talents. Both of them were good dancers who have given some of the best movies that were ever made in Hindi cinema.

Then came, Sridevi and Kamal Haasan, while Sridevi settled here, became a Bollywood star and even got married to a Hindi cinema producer/director, Kamal chose to juggle between different industries, from Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil to Hindi.

No matter what language film he does, one thing we all can agree on is that he is the best actor in the entire film industry and there has never been an actor and there never will be any actor who will match Kamal's acting prowess.

His daughters, too have debuted in Bollywood but they too lack his talent, hopefully someday they can make bigger name than him but Kamal Haasan is one Tamilian that our country will be extremely proud of.

Like how many films of South are being remade in Hindi, many actors from South are also starring in Bollywood films. The latest entrant will be Dhanush who charmed us with his act in Raanjhanaa and later as a mute in Shamitabh.

Dhanush is one of the best actors in the Tamil industry and this import has done some good business to Bollywood as well. It was very easy for fans to fall in love with him and accept him as part of the Hindi cinema.

Actress Vidya Balan who first debuted on Television before making her Bollywood debut with Parineeta is a typical Tamilian. But at home they speak a mix of Malayalam and Tamil.

Madhavan

Madhavan who is a big Tamil star made his debut in Bollywood with Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein. His first ever appearance in a film was also a Hindi film, Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin and then later he got introduced in Akeli - A Lonely Woman, all of which went unnoticed.

Dhanush

Dhanush needs no introduction today, the actor got famous in Bollywood with his Kolaveri Di song which helped him bag a debut in Raanjhanaa as the lead hero and then later he did Shamitabh with Amitabh Bachchan.

Asin

Asin made her debut in Bollywood with Ghajini which made her an instant superstar but sadly she is not seen in any movies these days.

Kamal Haasan

Kamal Haasan entered Bollywood through Ek Duuje Ke Liye (1981), directed by Balachander. He has ruled Tamil, Malayalam and Bollywood industry.

Shruti Haasan

Shruti Haasan made a flop debut in Bollywood starring Imran Khan in it, but she managed to shine in Tamil and Telugu. Finally she is back in Bollywood with the movie Welcome Back.

Akshara Haasan

Akshara Haasan made her Bollywood debut with Shamitabh starring Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush. She has shown all the signs of a superstar in the making.
