In an interview to a leading daily also, Karan Johar revealed that Shahrukh Khan is not his best friend, his wife Gauri Khan is, "Shahrukh is not my friend. He is a parent figure, my elder brother. He walks into a room, I stand up. Till he doesn't sit, I keep standing. However, with Gauri my equation is different.''

Karan Johar further added, ''She is someone who I can pick up the phone and call up even at 4 am and she will listen to me patiently. She is always there for me. I met Shahrukh first, but Gauri was always my friend. Gauri was my pal, my friend, my lifeline and nothing can ever change that.''
