Born on 1st September, 1975, Deepak Dboriyal began his acting career with theatre. The actor landed his first big break in Bollywood with Maqbool in 2013. However, it was his role of Pappi in R. Madhavan-Kangana Ranaut starrer Tanu Weds Manu, which brought the spotlight on him.

Speaking about his struggling days in Bollywood, Deepak had once said in an interview, "I went through a phase when I felt bad that many of my friends who I have known from my theatre days, and who are now working in big films, aren't helping me. Even then, I had never asked them to recommend me. To be honest, I am in a happy place today and have no complains." He further added, "I have been appreciated for my comic timing. Even though I have been stereotyped as a comic actor, I don't let that affect me."
