Known for her drop-dead gorgeous looks and 'care-a-damn' attitude, the beautiful Nargis Fakhri celebrates her 39th birthday today (i.e 20th October). Born to a Czech mother and Pakistani father, the actress started working at the age of 15, teaching arts, crafts and ceramics at a summer camp to children. She wanted to be a teacher, but during her final year of psychology and fine arts, she decided that she wanted to explore the world and decided to foray into the world of modelling.
She participated in America's Next Top Model and even did a photoshoot for 2009 Kingfisher Calender. Her appearance in the calender attracted the attention of director Imtiaz Ali who offered her 'Rockstar' opposite Ranbir Kapoor and from there, she began her Bollywood journey.

Nargis Is A Self-Confessed Foodie
She may have a svelte figure, but that doesn't stop her from gorging on food.
The actress revealed in one of her interviews, "I grew up in New York and it remains my favourite city. As it is a melting pot of cultures, I would indulge in all cuisines depending on my mood. The neighbourhood had African-Americans, so I had a lot of southern US style food. I love my collard greens (which is a staple vegetable of southern US cuisine), chicken and corn bread. My best friend was a Columbian who introduced me to South American food like Arroz con pollo - chicken with rice - which is loaded with spices, bell peppers and achiote seeds which gives it a nutty flavour."
She Is A OCD Freak
Nargis says she won't even shake people's hand without a bacterial wipe afterwards. In fact, she would rather prefer to say Namaste instead.
Wait, What?
When Nargis was shooting for Ranbir Kapoor's Rockstar, the actress didn't know a word of Hindi. So, she literally had no idea what she was saying the whole time!
What's In A Name?
The actress grew up with a lot of Spanish people around her who would call her "Nalgas", which means butt-cheeks in Spanish! While Nargis liked her unique surname, she never used her surname when she was modelling.
