on
4th
August
1929,
Kishore
Kumar's
original
name
was
Abhhas
Kumar
Ganguly.
He
was
the
youngest
of
four
siblings,
the
other
three
being
Ashok
Kumar,
Sati
Devi
and
Anoop.
When
Abhas
started
his
career
in
the
film
industry,
he
changed
his
name
to
Kishore
Kumar.
He
landed
his
first
singing
break
with
Marne
Ki
Duayen
Kyon
Mangu' for
Ziddi.
Since
then
there
was
no
looking
back
for
him.
Not
just
singing,
Kishore
da
was
a
master
of
all
trades
and
was
a
successsful
playback
singer,
actor,
lyricist,
composer,
producer,
director
and
screenwriter.
In
an
interview
in
1985,
he
told
Pritish
Nandy,
how
he
hated
acting
and
was
only
interested
in
singing.
The
magazine
quoted
him
as
saying,
"I
only
wanted
to
sing.
Never
to
act.
But
somehow,
thanks
to
peculiar
circumstances,
I
was
persuaded
to
act
in
the
movies.
I
hated
every
moment
of
it
and

of
it.
