Reportedly, Raj Kapoor was keen to sign her for Sangam, but Vyjanthimala being one of the most sought-after actresses found some excuse and kept Raj Kapoor's call on hold. After several attempts when Raj failed to get her reply, the film magazines fuelled the buzz that Dilip Kumar was creating hurdles and preventing Vyjayanthimala from signing Raj Kapoor's film. Aggravated after reading such stories, one day Raj Kapoor called up Vyjayanthimala and fervently asked her over the phone, "Bol Radha Bol Sangam hoga ke nahin...."

Floored at Raj Kapoor's pleasant gesture, she affectionately replied, "Are Baba Hoga Hoga Hoga..." It is said that later lyricist Shailendra wrote their witty conversation into the super hit song Mere Man Ki Ganga Aur Tere Man Ki Jamuna Ka Bol Radha Bol Sangam Hoga Ke Nahin...."
