      Mohandas Karamdas Gandhi or Mahatma Gandhi, the name evokes a lot of respect. Most of us have read about him in our history textbooks or heard stories about him from parents and grandparents. Lovingly known as Bapu, he is is considered to be one of the greatest leaders and influencers of all time in India. The man inspired many people with his ideology. His non-violent methods of protest have been popular with people across the globe.

      His birth anniversary is celebrated every year as Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. On this day, prayer services and cultural events are held in schools, colleges and local government. The film won eight Academy Awards, including best picture, best director, and best actor, which went to Ben Kingsley for his portrayal of Mahatma Gandhi.

      The film directed by Firoz Abbas Khan, depicted the troubled relationship between Mahatma Gandhi (played by Darshan Jariwala) and his son Harilal Gandhi (Akshaye Khanna).
