Rani Mukerji, in an old interview, opened up about rumours that claimed that she was the reason behind her husband, producer Aditya Chopra's divorce from his first wife.

The two dated for three long years before tying the knot in an intimate wedding. Meanwhile, after making their marriage official publicly, Rani was blamed for breaking Aditya's first marriage.

Earlier, in an interview with India Forum, Rani refuted all the claims and said that she is not that kind of actress who would get romantically involved with her producer. Shutting down all rumours, Rani Mukerji had said, "Contrary to all rumours, I started seeing him only when he was out of his divorce and was not my producer. I started seeing him at a point when I was not working with him as dating your producer was not my cup of tea. My last three films in the past three years. No One Killed Jessica, Talaash and Aiyyaa were not with him as the producer."

On being asked why she didn't address these issues earlier, when they first emerged, Rani pointed out that the source behind these rumours were people with "some agenda". She further added that although her image was getting "maligned," everyone around her was protected. Concluding that her wedding with Aditya was proof that everything claimed about her was "rubbish".
