Salman Khan Maine Pyar Kiya: Bollwyood megastar Salman Khan is a huge name now and enjoys stardom like no other star in the country. But the star has faced his own share of challenges when trying to establish his career in the film industry.

As per reports, Salman approached Sooraj Barjatya with a strong desire to play the lead role in the successful 1989 film Maine Pyar Kiya. However, the director had some reservations and was not entirely convinced to cast Salman as Prem.

Salman Khan was not the first choice for Maine Pyar Kiya

Though Salman Khan became a superstar overnight after the release of Maine Pyar Kiya and he is still our favourite Prem, the iconic character was first offered to veteran actor Yusuf Khan's son, Faraaz Khan.

Maine Pyar Kiya was Salman Khan's first solo hit as a lead hero and changed his luck forever. After the film's success, he received many offers. As per reports, Faraaz Khan was the first choice of Sooraj Barjatya to play the role of Prem.

However, Faraaz rejected the offer, and the role went back to Salman Khan, and the rest is history! The film turned out to be a blockbuster, and India got a new shining superstar.

As for Faraaz Khan, he rose to fame with his role in the 1998 movie Mehndi, which starred Rani Mukerji. However, after appearing in a few flop movies, Faraaz disappeared from the limelight in 2008.

Apart from films, he has also done a few television shows, like Raat Hone Ke Ho, Sinndoor Tere Naam Ki, and Lipstick, among others.

Unfortunately, Faraaz Khan passed away in 2020 at the age of 50 after suffering from a brain infection. He died in Bangalore due to a neurological disorder, reports suggest.

Meanwhile, talking about Slaman Khan, the actor was last seen in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. He will next be seen in Tiger 3 with Emraan Hashmi and Katrina Kaif.
