Sushmita Sen Miss Universe Contest: A heartwarming old video of Sushmita Sen has resurfaced on the internet that shows her opening up about a touching incident from her Pageant days. Bollywood actress and former Miss Universe during the interview with Kapuso journalist Jessica Soho, recalled Miss Philippines, Charlene Gonzales's generosity.

In the video, Sushmita Sen shares a heartwarming story that occurred during the Miss Universe pageant, where she represented India in 1994. On the crucial day of the competition, Sen's fate dealt with an unexpected twist as she lost her earrings, an integral part of her exquisite ensemble.

Recalling the incident with a smile, Sushmita said, "I lost my earrings, and that whole outfit had a beautiful set of jewelry." At this moment of distress, Charlene Gonzales, the representative of the Philippines, stepped in with an indelible gesture.

Charlene approached Sushmita and expressed, "You're in my country, anything that you need, I can help you."

Sushmita during the interview said, "I was literally crying at dinner when Charlene Gonzalez comes up and says, 'Hello, Miss India, I'm Miss Philippines.' Like, I don't know her. Of course, I knew who Charlene was."

Charlene offered Sushmita a pair of earrings from her own collection. Sushmita vividly recalled the touching moment, saying, "Oh my God, I could picture, at that moment, her with wings. She opened up her room and all her earrings to me and said, 'Whichever you want."

Charlene's supported her further as she insisted she choose the pair of earrings she wants. "It doesn't matter, it's my country, I'll get another one. You choose whatever you like," Charlene added.

With Charlene's earrings gracing her ears during the finale of the Miss Universe 1994 contest, Sushmita emerged as the first Indian woman to win the prestigious Miss Universe title.

Following her triumph, Sushmita attempted to return the earrings to Charlene Gonzales. However, the Filipino beauty queen refused to accept them back, saying, "They are your winning earrings, you won in them, you can't give those back. Take it as a gift from the Philippines."l Check out the video.
